American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Two more meetings via phone conference are set for November and December. Each only one day over the phone. That should be productive. At least Alex Garcia can do it from his man cave somewhere in Florida while the rest of the negotiators will be standing by waiting for updates.

Maybe you’re an older guy and have eyesight issues so let me give you a larger picture. Lol.

Haven’t had time to be on here for awhile. So getting caught up. But seems to be a lot of frustrations. While I can understand why, my only question is who is it directed to? Why not the company instead of the association. The association is standing up and fighting for a leading industry contract for mechanics and fleet. Parker refuses to give on the issues.
So what now? We just accept what the company is offering?? Then why do we even negotiate? Why don’t we just ask the company to put out a offer, and we will vote on every offer until one passes. Obviously listening to many on here, one would have passed already. Even though I am 100% sure they would have been the first to blame the association for bringing such a pos out.

I cant speak for anyone else, but my biggest problem is the lack of support by the iam for anything we have tried to accomplish thru the protest. The continued lack of support is inexcusable and cause for the associstion to be dissolved. Again when you refuse to fight for us, dont expect us to fight or hold out for you. Your excuse that you havent been here in a while sums up the I.A.M = M.I.A

The membership has no say. It's all in Alex Garcia's hands. He's the one calling the shots for us. The new Jim Little of the association. A fleet service guy negotiating for the thousands of association members.

Few from the IAM want it as well. Sito is protecting United Airline interest and doesn't want to pile on additional risk for United so he is trying to stall. Looks like things are back on the upswing again though. This is the 3rd time that Sito has been a part of any upswing. The previous two times, everything was done and he flipped like a pancake and pulled back with the "Can't sign Fleet without MX" crap. But if he doesn't move after February, it will be easy for Trump's mediators to figure out and if we go on ice then that's going to make him look really really bad and could catapult AMP.

If Sito forces a TA with the Mechanics it could be the very thing that gets the cards AMP needs.

When did I ask you to fight for me?? I am asking you to fight for yourself.
And is walking a info picket all you focus on?? Have you bothered to ask any of your local twu leaders in Dfw about the recent scheduling of the picketing there in Dfw?? Or do you just want to cry??.
I am the one that was in contact with our twu counterpart for the picket. I had advise him more than a month before the picket, before the date was even set, that the only week we wouldn’t be available was the week of the 21st. However he contacted me and said the 23rd was the best date for all the twu members. So I agreed that they should go ahead with it since 99% of the members in Dfw are twu. The IAM did have some of our local reps there, but the TWU leaders knew ahead of time that the IAM negotiating officers had our convention that we are required to attend that week. It was all agreed upon, and nothing was done or not done without both the twu and IAM knowing what was happening. So that’s your answer Dfw gen. Now go ahead and cry about it!!

"it's a goodie and I for one will be pushing it."

That was about the most ludicrous comment he has made to date... other than maybe "I'm in charge now"!

Only a small fraction, of a fraction of the membership in the association, even knows who he is. With that in mind, even with a handful of dubious digital supporters in an obscure forum to support his agenda, it is highly unlikely anyone will seek his personal endorsement...

This dude must think the membership has placed him on a throne, and crowned him king of airline labor... what part 770 to 20 does he not understand?

A handful of dubious digital supporters in an obscure forum from LAA are happy to have someone keeping us informed. The IAMPF has been vilified for LAA and for me it would require
35 years of vesting. The change in our seniority has already caused many to sign AMP cards and the loss of thousands of dollars waiting on the IAM.

Nah, they know the TWU represented mechanics ain't got the balls to do anything about their situation.

Too passive!

Yes while the negotiating committee where sitting in the hotel waiting to get updated. They where all there but not in on the negotiations. My contacts in Tulsa, DFW, DWH, MIA and JFK all confirm the same story. There where union people not in negotiations that where at the hotel who witnessed this first hand. Local 591 is denying it and so is the local fleet service troll on this forum. My guess is that these individuals are holding the negotiators accountable by showing up.
Either way this should not happen. Mediated talks should continue in the same manner with a mediator sitting in to make sure negotiations progress in a forward direction.

I think that's why the association is denying that only Alex Garcia was in on negotiations on the 30th.

Yes there were Local Presidents, a few Reps and even some FSC’s modeling the new Uniforms the Company wants to outfit us in there for a number of hours. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear as if they were invited to go into the room with the Company and the NMB Mediators.

And 1AA it isn’t the Association denying that only Alex was in the room (A STUPID notion anyway) what you read came from Alex’s very own fingers that there were others besides him.

BTW they were invited to come but were never informed that they would be in the room.

100% PATHETIC how you old farts need to LIE to try to get what you want.

BTW this is what I cut off from my small text but here’s the rest of it for you.
