Dear AMFA Represented Members at Alaska Airlines & future Hawaiian Members
On December 2, 2025 the National Mediation Board (NMB) issued their response to AMFA’s submission for class and craft clarification for the Cleaners and Line Serviceman at Hawaiian Airlines. The NMB has ruled that both the Cleaners and Line Servicemen classifications of work fall under the Mechanics & Related and will be included in the NMB election. There are 305 eligible Cleaners & Line Servicemen at Hawaiian Airlines. The combined total of eligible votes for both Alaska & Hawaiian Airlines is 1990 members.
The National Mediation Board (Board) has authorized an election for the Union representation for the Aircraft Mechanics a Related work groups for Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines. The election will be conducted by Mail Ballot. The Ballots will be mailed to the employees on
December 16, 2025. The voting period will be from
12:01 a.m., ET, December 16, 2025 through
February 12, 2026. The tally will take place at the Board’s offices on
February 12, 2026 at 2 p.m., ET. AMFA will have a representatives in person at the NMB offices, during the ballot count on February 12, 2026.
The NMB has officially announced the dates for the Union representation election between the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) and the IAM. ALL members should have already verified in PeopleSoft that their mailing address is up to date with the company. The date on file within PeopleSoft is the date that will be supplied to the NMB. We encourage everyone to fill out their ballot and return to the NMB as soon as possible (ASAP). DO NOT hesitate and miss the opportunity for your vote to count.
This representation election will determine the course of your future with Alaska Airlines. The time is now for every member to voice their support for the Union who they want to be represented by. AMFA has been instrumental in the continued elevation of the Aviation Maintenance profession as a craft of skilled, licensed, professional technicians. Everyone’s vote truly matters in this election, so exercise your right and VOTE!

***Also take note*** how AMFA responded in another update on Dec 2nd update from the NMB on correctly keeping the cleaners and line service men on the Mechanic and Related Class and Craft list, just like they are at all the airlines AMFA represents, which is upwards of 13 Airlines weez--13!!
