AMT $53.24
QA $53.98
FAC. $51.16
Last pay increase is DOS + 48 months. These are Base pay only.
No premiums. Premiums stay consistent throughout.
Good. At end of contract we will be within a buck and change, in the 60's.
Nice to see American back on top. Now get AMFA in there to focus on keeping it that way.
FYI; our inspectors and lead wage scales are 6% more than AMT base, and Lead Inspector is 12% more than AMT base.
Thanks for the info...

Thank you for your professional response. Wish some of the others on this site could learn from you. Think they hurt the cause more than they help.
Your welcome.
Some of us have been here for a long, long time. It's a great way for comparing what is going on in the industry and around contract times it helps knowing what others are nego for within our same industry. It would greatly benefit the mechanics and related at AA to out from underneath the asso. who actually has 12 different groups within the same industrial union (I think it's 12) when they replace this asso with a class and craft org. all the different groups will in fact make out better with the mechanic and related being in their own C&C representational entity and the other groups in theirs where all can be focused on their groups specialties and craft.

Also, most of us are so use to people coming on here to try and derail the AMFA movement at AA. There has been a many sent here (as you probably know since you've been reading longer than posting) to try and discredit AMFA in any way shape or form, and that's why you see the short answers and the jumping to conclusions about why someone might be here. We are also expecting some more noise out of the asso. side once the announcement from the NMB is made for the election to go forward.

You statement that Reading is Fundamental just continues to make you come across as ignorant. If you cant be more positive. Why dont you just be quiet. Smart azz answers just drive people away. But I know you are not going to stop because I have watched you do this for many many years.
I do believe "smart jazz mechanic" is back,!

I think the weez is back on the boards. Remember when the company used his comments in the lawsuit? Then the TWU told him to shut it down and stay off the boards. He always fought hard against the AMT'S when we wanted to get out of the Association. He praised Alex Garcia. Here we are again on the verge of getting an election and poof. My opinion of course.

A new update is posted on AMFA National's website under AMFA at American Airlines. Just to be clear no one will lose their pensions or benefits from a representational change in unions, so don't let the industrial unions try to scare you away from voting for AMFA by telling you that you will lose your pensions and benefits if you vote in AMFA. More lies and misinformation.
Some really good points to get out to the entire membership before a vote comes to help clear the air from the false and misinformation that some will try to spread to cause confusion and skepticism...

Your Pension Benefit is Safe and Retirement Contributions Will Continue
We want to assure members that valuable American Airlines contributions toward your retirement will continue up to, through, and post transition to AMFA. We want to be very clear that you will not lose the vested pension benefit you have earned in the IAM National Pension Fund (“IAM Plan”) as a result of a change from TWU/IAM to AMFA.
A change in representation will result in a change in who administers the retirement program and the type of retirement plan American Airlines contributes to on your behalf. Regardless, American Airlines contributions will continue through this process. While we evaluate and negotiate options, we have a strategy in place to ensure a smooth and transparent transition. Here is how this will work:

1. Your Current IAM Plan Benefit
The benefit you have earned in the IAM Plan will be “frozen.” This just means American Airlines contributions made on your behalf will stop going into the current IAM Plan, and future contributions will be redirected into a different retirement saving vehicle. Freezing the IAM Plan does not change or impact the benefit you have earned up to the freeze date, provided you are vested (with five years of service under the IAM Plan). Your vested benefits remain intact and cannot be taken away; you can start your retirement benefits in the future under the terms of the IAM Plan.

2. The Transition Period
Starting from day one, AMFA is prepared to handle the money American Airlines contributes toward your retirement.
In preparation for a favorable vote, we have engaged a third party to administer the transition while the details of a permanent retirement program are worked out. During the transition, the administrator will track the retirement contributions made on your behalf, including any earned interest. Periodic statements will be provided to you so that you can see your balance, though you won’t have access to this account (similar to any defined benefit retirement program).
3. Your Future Retirement Benefits

Our preference for your future retirement program would be under a defined contribution plan (like a 401(k) plan) administered by American Airlines. Until we are permitted to bargain on your behalf, we don’t know whether American will agree to this. In the event they don’t, we are prepared to establish a new defined contribution plan sponsored by AMFA.
Once a final decision is made on the permanent retirement program, the transition account will be transferred over, and you’ll receive a final statement reconciling that activity. Going forward, you’ll be able to see and make decisions regarding your retirement benefits under the new program.
On Behalf of the National Executive Council,
Bret Oestreich
National Director

Thanks, this needs to be out ahead of the Association because they will bombard the floor with fart bombs and hope that members will believe it without facts or documentation.
But first things first. The NMB has to call for a representational election. Hopefully this coming week.

fart bombs? I'm offended. You're officially on ignore :)

NP. Man, I hope so too. You guys are touching on 6 months since the filing of cards to NMB.
It became a full time job fighting off all the propaganda and rhetoric when we fired the teamsters to bring in AMFA. And I am sure the several past attempts at collecting cards at AA for AMFA is only an introduction to what you guys will endure once the NMB investigator blesses this vote to go forward, it will get 10 times worse IMO.
Damn you guys cant be Mechanics. What level of school did you make it to.

Dude, man, lighten up. They are just having fun. Are you a mechanic? Usually, most aircraft mechanics have thicker skin than that. You've got to be able to take some hazing or ya just won't last long on the floor. Take it all in stride, have fun with it, pull your panties out...
