I do, but that was JFK, who was indeed a Democrat, but certainly a man that no current "liberal" would now support in any way, much less vote into office. President Kennedy was also a firm believer in the Second Amendment.

What beliefs of Kennedy are in opposition to the beliefs of most democrats today?

Obama has no military back ground so why should he be expected to be able to lead a squad anywhere? Then again, Reagan was a performer in the army, W Bush guarding IN against foreign invaders when he had the time to show up for training.

Yet when Kerry, a man who served in Viet Nam and earned a Purple Heart the right saw fit to vilify his service. So with straight face, who would you follow into battle, a man born with a silver spoon who flew jets over IN when he had time to show up or a man who actually served and fought and killed for his country?

Were you equally as disturbed about the leadership abilities of Bush or do your standards fluctuate based on whether or not you agree with their politics?

Better yet, with a straight face try explaining to me how a presidents military service has any correlation to their performance as POTUS? The duties of the President extend far beyond that of just CiC.

But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."

"John Kerry's service in Vietnam lasted 4 months and 12 days, beginning in November 1968 when he reported to Cam Ranh Bay for a month of training. His abbreviated combat tour ended shortly after he requested a transfer out of Vietnam on March 17, 1969, citing Navy instruction 1300.39 permitting personnel with three Purple Hearts to request reassignment. I see Tree can't come to grips or hasn't realized the radical changes in our political factions. You are correct about JFK and Goldwater. What at one time was the Democrat Party has been taken over by the more radical extreme left progressive socialists. What was a Democrat has been labeled Blue Dog and Nancy Pelosi has been doing everything she can to rid the current party of those people because they won't follow the progressive agenda all the time. The Kennedy Democrat has evolved into the Republic Party moderates which now worry more about being moderate than
conservative and that is one reason why they can't win when their base is more conservative than moderate. Also the Republican party moderates float towards the progessive side more often than not. So both parties now drive out what were their true base into the Independent voting block. Some conservatives now rally around the Tea Party model. The last time the progressive socialists were in control was through the Wilson and FDR days and they are the ones who ruined the liberal name if you remember.

Given this level of research it is no surprise you were unable to find W Bush reading "The Pet Goat" in front of grade school children and cameras on 9/11.


Just to be clear about Kerry's service. He joined the Navy in 1966 and volunteered to serve on a Swift boat or PRB. Bush joined the Air Force reserve and protected IN from foreign invasion. All this and You and your Swiftboat numb-nuts have the never to question his service? I guess when your party is running the likes of Bush you have nothing else to run on.
