AUG/SEPT 2012 US Pilots Labor Discussion

Read the whole post Bob. This isn't the idiots at US Air that bought two airlines and shrunk them down to nothing. To get the revenue stream, they can't give up marketshare. Not trying to be ugly but I doubt if min fleet will ever have any effect on you anyway. You have yours.

Driver...

Driver,

Not to be ugly either but you are right, I do have mine and it only took 49 years in aviation and almost 40 years here to get it. I really feel bad for those left to deal with this mess.

I really wasn't ready to retire at 60 but I am actually looking forward to retirement or change of careers now.

Best of luck,

Bob

We have. Days ago. Explain why you be going on west rep's recommendation. They're just rookie no counts.

Sharp as ever Ames.

We? Are you a west rep?You will notice that my post was days ago. Before I posted I went to the USAPA website and made sure they had not posted a new update. They hadn't. The current one came out after my post.

You have NEVER heard me call the west pilots a rookie no count. I don't feel that way. Time to dust that big chip off your shoulder.

You couldn't tell that my posts about the west reps were facetious? I just find it interesting the back pedaling. All 3 of them recommended to not even send it to the pilots, but now they want road shows. Now in an ordinary union, working with an ordinary company that might be a good thing. But how many times have you guys told us that we are not a real union? That we are along for the ride? If so, why didn't they bow to Paker? Now their last update looks like they are squirming.

This pilot group and this union are so screwed up that I couldn't tell you what to do with the MOU and/or if it should be voted in. I don't trust the union or the company.

This airline is not Ucal or Dal..don't think it ever will be in that class because then Mr. P. would not have an excuse to keep us on the bottom tier of wages. He is not doing this JUST to ruin my/our day he is doing it to put money in his pocket.

Bob

...and I do this to put money in my pocket.

I could be putting a lot more money in my pocket if I were paid 85% of what a Ucal or DAL pilot makes...and that is what Parker or any future CEO will seek.

Problem is I am tied to a group willing to work for 55% of what those other pilot groups make, and Parker and Co. are perfectly willing to go along with that deal.

There, I just untied the knot for you. You are free!

I do not trust the company or usapa either....but, if I had to pick between the two, the company would win hands down.

Regarding the MOU....I guess the question is..how much do I trust the APA?

We need to have as many pilots at tomorrow's meeting as possible. the pilots need to keep this in open session. There are indications that the BPR wants to cancel the road shows and vote for the MOU.

This merger, associated APA Term sheet, and USAPA MOU are a great leap forward in the pilot's careers for them and their families. Pilots need to vote and they do not want the BPR gambling with their futures.

The meeting starts tomorrow Tuesday September 11 at 9am at USAPA headquarters on Woodlawn Ave in Charlotte. Please be there. Pass the word to your fellow pilots.

There is nothing to vote on, the company pulled it back, any vote is futile and meaningless.

Best of luck to you also Bob. I have a few more years to go, so looks like I'll have to ride it out. I am ready for whatever happens and I'll just deal with it. Honestly, I don't think we have anywhere to go but up considering LOA93. I'd really like to see us give this merger a chance.

A case could be made drawing a difference between Parker's not taking the MOU to the board and pulling it. I guess we'll see.

I sat in USAPA headquarters for 3 days. I heard everything I need to hear. I trust our advisors and they say don't pass this up.

Nuff said.

Driver...

Oh c'mon driver, don't you know that pilots are far more intelligent than highly trained individuals in a particular field. Wasn't it nice back when the Cleary clan was in charge and there was no difference of opinion with the advisors or lawyers. Of course all they did was shop around until they found someone either dumb enough or sleazy enough to tell them exactly what they wanted to hear.

Bean

Part of the MOU is that the BOD has to approve it, if Parker isnt taking it to the BOD, then there is no MOU with the company, and he even stated the company has pulled the MOU.

A320Driver: You don't have to trust the company. The MOU says if they shrink our side, they have to shrink the AA side at least twice as much.

The company gets to shrink both sides so it is a great deal for them......they get to remove twice as many of those nasty costly employees, particularly those costly pain in the rear pilots! Just because shrinking the company doesn't make sense doesn't mean they wont try it.

Agreed in full.

This merger, associated APA Term sheet, and USAPA MOU are a great leap forward in the pilot's careers for them and their families.

Well...thanks very much for that splendid endorsement. Your obvious enthusiasm in favor of this mou should remove all reasonable doubt from ANY (even slightly sane) person that it's VERY likely a bad idea! Sheesh! Did you REALLY just say"..a great leap forward.." ? 😉
