"In matters of style, swim with the current. In matters of principle, stand like a rock."
"A strict observation of the written laws is doubtless one of the high virtues of a good citizen, but it is not the highest......
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty....": Thomas Jefferson.

Did you ever actually read any of that kind of stuff in school at all?......EVER?

Wow! Two "minus" votes already? 😉 Sigh!...I guess even Mr. Jefferson's noble ideals can't possibly measure up to the west's notions of moral perfection? Well...on my best day; I couldn't compete with him, so..well...Ok then...I guess I'll just give up on getting any way-cool "Integrity Matters" T-shirts for now. 😉

The Shuttle merger involved the integration of a very small pilot group - statistically insignificant to the merger landscape. I already explained DAL/NWA. Frontier Republic is a mess. USAirways - America West is the Mother of all Messes.

None of which negates the fact that on four occasions in a row neutral, professionally trained arbitrators determined that using slotting and ratios is the fair way to merge pilot seniority lists and LOS/DOH is not.

We all understand that you believe the method that benefits you personally (at the time) is what's fair.

Any ardent nicsters care to field that one?

I thought I already had...but for this specific posters question, I will go again.

the West pilot hired two days earlier gained 850 numbers compared to what number?

Obviously not the West pilots former number, compared to that he moved down somewhere between 517 and 2900.

so jetjok is saying the guy who was hired at a completely different airline in the same week he was hired at AAA or wherever, had greater seniority at AWA than he had at AAA.

for jetjoke to say he gained 850 numbers is a fallacy. what jj should have said is "if this guy were on OUR list....it would be like he gained 850 numbers". but the guy was not on the east's list, nor was he added to the east's list.

If professionally trained laboratory chimpanzees slipped on the same banana peel four times: Would that construct and constitute a proper moral paradigm as well? 😉

That's good to know. I don't feel so left out by not having even one of them then. 😉

A big ego pouring out of a tightly fitting undersized t-shirt isn't an endearing thing. Even Dolly Parton gets it. And she is never here posting about PROOF and egos. 😀

"...nor was he added to the east's list."

Is it not the direct intent of the nic to immediately position him/her to enter the east domiciles with the 2 day = 850 numbers instant boost? Ya' just gotta' fairly admit that moving up (within any combined list) 425 numbers a day is just a wee bit severe......

What's not in dispute is that it's wrong to renege on a mutually agreed upon arbitration just because you don't like the result.

It was a perfectly legal maneuver to circumvent a flawed outcome. The eastern group is to be congratulated on a perfectly legal maneuver in a flawed process. The system worked perfectly. Damn fine work. McIlvenna knew the risk and hr took it. That is his problem now.

McIlvenna was told point blank about the risk and pushed it. He led you right into a legal flanking you in PHX will never get out of now. He brought you to the spot where your incompetent legal team took over and sucked the life out of you.

Silver will drive the point home quite clearly very soon.
Do you still hold McIlvenna in high regard? Perhaps you should reconsider your position.

Did they first agree to the laboratory conditions and were they then "professionally trained" to do exactly that? Then it could be said that the result is one of the "professionally trained" monkeys holding up their end of the agreement. Now, the east monkeys are different - agreed to abide with the terms, then demanded all the bananas, had sex with the female lab assistants, and threw feces on each other when they didn't get either.their demands met...plus declared themselves morally bound to resist slipping on the banana peels.
