You didn't answer my question. You're angry because the AMR pilots are getting some equity from their company? So what, good for them. It's what in this for US, the continually beleaguered pilot group. This merger still has a very good chance of being completed, with support from many constituencies. I cannot understand why you could possibly not want more than a 40% hike in compensation by January, 2014.

Anger is not an emotion he expressed. And he didn't express a lack of desire for a 40% pay hike.

But I understand how the thought of a 40% pay hike might make people jump to conclusions.

Reading about you challenging the absorption rate of your depends is priceless, thats why.

Not so much pro ALPA. More like anti a union that was founded solely to overturn the Nicolau Award. Enough said in previous posts over the YEARS.

You can count on your attrition ( unless Age 65 becomes Age 67-experience and a pilot shortage come to mind) but we all know bases and airplanes can disappear in a heartbeat.

Best of luck. I hope your planning was adequate and then some.

I was actually trying to be agreeable. That said you leaving the premises is part of my master plan. It's bad enough I am here pontificating with 8 years to go..you sir? RR

I want it all. but I am not "simple" enough to think that wanting it or needing it makes it so. I refuse on each and every level to support Doug Parker. RR

He's angry because he's short and he was a failure as the head of the union, even the hardline East pilots rejected him for a second term.

Either that or because his Mom won't let him leave the basement.

I'm preparing go life on LOA 93. The rest of you should be as well. This DOJ thing is going to stretch out far longer than this year. The West is asking for MORE money to drag it out. New hires better get Captain seats if bidding will allow it because the industry is in for a new reality.

Unity with the West posters and East supporters of the West have better get used to the FACT that we have many more years of the same coming and the bad thing about it is the taste of an MOU that is not coming, or at least not coming easily.

I come on the forums mainly to prove one point....you guys love to point fingers at me, or Doug, Cleary, etc. yet the very person you should be pointing the finger at is the person in the mirror.

I make my point every time West and Leonidas opens its mouth.

"Leonidas Update: August 18, 2013

On Thursday, August 15th, a status conference was held before Judge Silver per her August 6th order (Doc 141). The parties had requested the hearing as part of their proposed Scheduling Order (Doc 132-1). Our attorneys have been busily preparing for the September 24th – 25th trial, and they anticipated that the conference would be very helpful in resolving a number of disagreements with USAPA counsel. Fortunately, much was resolved from the status conference because Judge Silver issued an order (Doc 160) yesterday, which is exactly what we had hoped for. USAPA counsel desperately tried to turn the status conference into an impromptu motion to dismiss hearing, arguing that the DOJ anti-trust suit was a changed circumstance that divested Judge Silver of her jurisdiction over the case. West attorneys rebutted those arguments, as did US Airways counsel. The complete transcript can be found here, and we highly recommend reading them because the dialogue is informative as to the real issue of our case.

We have a busy schedule ahead as we press on towards our September 24th date with justice. This has been an incredibly long road to get to where we are, and it never would have happened had it not been for the thousand-plus pilots who have each contributed thousands of dollars individually to this legal effort. Now we are on the final push. We have set up a special website called “The Push For Justice” and its purpose is to meet our funding requirement for the trial and post-trial phases. We ask that each captain subscribe for $100 a month and each first officer $50 a month, until the Nicolau is implemented. Fellow pilots, this is it: fund now or forever hold your peace.

Sincerely,

Leonidas, LLC

More money.. and monthly installments until... They may just as well swear a pact never to eat or drink until after they vanquish the enemies of Sparta.

Even a moron can see Silver is rushing head over heels with every intention to improve Wake's reputation at the 9th through a tectonic shifting of the bell curve.

Nice picture. The last time there was real unity and a chance to negotiate a decent contract. Probably taken at least 7 years ago. .
Yeah, when you were AWA. Look at the picture closely....those are AWA crests on their hats, not US Airways crests. Better plan on your career in the tank in PHX.

This merger is HUGE for all for all of us, it's a life-changing POSITIVE event. It is time to put aside all of the negative emotions and hatred for management or our fellow pilots, for the time being at least, for the greater good of all of us and our families. Just the increased pay and DC contributions are substantial. As of 1-1-14, a West A320 Captain will receive almost a $40,000 per year pay raise, plus about $14,000 more in annual DC Plan contributions. An East A320 Captain will receive almost a $55,000 per year pay raise, plus about $16,000 more in annual DC Plan contributions. It makes no sense not to support his merger whole-heartedly. Is it worth losing $71,000 per year in total compensation, plus a better contract overall, just to spite the company?
Yeah, and having been on this forum for as long as you have, how do you think it's playing out so far? You hit the key word....HATRED. The West pilots hate management and East pilots.

They blame the guys in the pictures for USAPA. But the box that carried the CARDS carried EACH INDIVIDUAL SIGNATURE of the majority of the pilots and THE MAJORITY OF THE PILOTS voted for USAPA. They WANT to blame the guys in the picture but in reality they REALLY HATE AND BLAME THE EAST PILOTS for voting in a DEMOCRACY.

Yeah. The truth hurts. Is it worth losing ALL THAT MONEY? You should have thought about that when we were ALPA. That ship has LONG LEFT THE DOCK.

Oh, and don't forget to give MORE to www.thepushforjustice.com.

Be prepared to get an ass kicking from them again. Oh look, www.pushforjustice.com.

Justice. What a mockery.

And they have a "contributors list". Expect shakedown protesters to be hidden in plain view via XXXXXXXXX in alphabetical order. They should send their money to Holder for best influence.

Yeah, the employees stand to make a yacht load, which means the companies are gonna make a ship load, which means the passengers are gonna be stuck in rubber life boats. I think the DOJ is aware of our feelings about that already, and if they aren't they can project through all the uncertainties better than Judge Silver.

Dougie and his good buddies really want this merger badly. I can see him divesting of so much just so he doesn't strike out again that he ends up with something less than a mega carrier. Then he will come back to the employees hat in hand with a sad look on his face and say that he really wanted to give everybody a raise but because the airline did not achieve mega carrier size once again the employees (particularly the pilots) are "unique" and he can't afford a raise and once again concessions will be required. The really sad part is I think many employees would buy into this.

All the best and good luck to all,

Bob

If Doug would just send the East operation to AMR and give the shareholders stock in exchange that would leave US Airways with just PHX and USAPA! Now wouldn't that be ironic. Killed three birds with one stone. DOJ, US Airways and West Pilots!
