Not true. AA owns 383 aircraft, has capital leases on another 86, and operating leases on 205.
Yep, they " own ", they also owe four times what they " own ". No beef here.

<_< ----- Flyer, have you ever considered that "management" might be more than a small part of the problem?----- I don't believe AA has ever broken down the $$$ of it's labor cost between management, and non-management! At least not to my recollection!----- Why is that?
Will AA ever learn the value of a respected work force?
<_< ------ A grand speech Flier!------ But you still haven't answer my question! AA's management loves to reference AA's labor costs. But has never broken that figure down! How much of that cost is directly attributed to management, or non-contract employees?I do consider that. But I also look at AA and see the following:
* Only legacy to avoid bankruptcy, thanks to its employees' sacrifices AND capable leadership
* Finances are turning around (losses are shrinking) despite the major cost disadvantages relative to competitors
* Good strategic thinking and planning (alliances and partnerships) are leading to route growth and new (union) jobs
So while they're far from perfect at AA HQ, I have a hard time seeing them as the demons they are so often portrayed on this board.
