Say a Title 1 Line Mechanic, System Protected gets laid off in Miami. Does he have the right and ability to bump an OSM regardless of the OSM''s seniority at a maintenance base. Is the title 1 a&p the deciding factor, as it should be? Or is this going to be an industrial union issue right from the start?

Because we're all Title one you'll have to have seniority over an OSM to bump them. Now the good news is most of them are low seniority anyway, and when you bump them their OSM position now becomes an AMT position and you keep your current pay. The bad news is thats all under our current agreement which is about to go out the window. One company proposal is when you bump an OSM you go on that lower payscale. But I won't be shocked if they look to farm all that stuff out anyway and we won't have anyone to bump.
