Folks,

Please understand this;
Can-a-leave is only out for himself and UA. That is the reason that we don't all go by Date Of Hire Seniority. He knows that in the event of a merger between US and UA, he wants UA to be the top dogs seniority wise. We have too many seniority dates. That is an advantage for UA. UA seniority goes by whatever your first day on the ramp is, that is your seniority date. US doesn't use that system for everyone. That is why there is so much seniority animosity between US ramp agents. And it is going to get worse when we are merged with HP, because they go by DOH for everything. which just adds another log to the fire. The only fair way for the seniority issue to be resolved is the day that US and HP merge, we are merged by DOH for all bidding purposes, and DOH only. If they come up with some other scheme for settling seniority issues it will be a real mess between US and HP, and even more so if there is another merger on the horizon.

In order for Doug Parker, ceo of US Airways, to line his pockets, he has to justify his geriatric genocide that is taking place at US Airways. He will have a golden parachute and land safely. When he decided to drive drunk for the fourth time they put him in a womens prison, they knew sweet cheeks could not handle himself amongst men.

"Genetic genocide" . . . nothing like being over dramatic and over-the-top. And trashing Mr. Parker in such a way regardless of your feelings about him is low even for this forum.

What does your reply have to do with the topic of SENIORITY and Can-a-leave?

Your drunk ceo has to make the rest of the employees feel that old tenured workers are less desirable than others. Seniority has to do with experience, drunk doug will make a lot of money convincing other employees they deserve to jump over those that have tenured. You are obviously profiting from his geriatric genocide, therefore you want to follow him.

Why did they put your leader in a womens prison after four drinking convictions? What would have happened to you in the same circumstances?

You asked.

The company and the union would be wise to include DOH for all bidding purposes. Otherwise there will be more animosity between our work group than there already is.

I would def make Parker grab his ankles if I were in prison with him. Put a wig on him and he looks like Doogie Houser. Like a little mini-wheat!
:shock:

I am in no way profitting from him. In fact I am losing money everyday. Junior agents are awarded overtime before me because of adjusted seniority. Junior agents bid the better days off before me, as well as vacation because of adjusted seniority. I also get mandatroried while junior agents get to go home, instead of staying for the late flights that are rightfully theirs to work. Now where's all of this profit that you are speaking of?

Ummm... Granted Canale is buddy buddy with Parker, but PArker has nothing to do with this. Seniority is determined by the UNION. Every member of the seniority commitee is a UNION MEMBER. The Company has no say in that. The ONLY Thing the Company has input on for seniority is how those who are non fleet get integrated into fleet, and that will be part of the TA.

The IAM has a seniority intergration committee. There are 6 people on the committee. 3 from America West and 3 from US Airways. The people on the committee are the ones that decided for all of fleet service to go to classifacation senorotiy. But they are not doing it that way for the betterment of fleet service. They are doing it that way because there own self serving interest.

I know this. That is what the problem is. What can we do to get this changed or to get those decided our fate off of that committee? They have the same agendas as Canaleave. Where did this committee come from? Elected? Appointed? Why them? How did they decide what to choose? I don't remember any vote on seniority. Are we just supposed to except that what they feel is fair for themselves, is fair for the rest of US? I don't think so. A movement should be started to correct their inabilities to be fair for all, and not just some. Can someone in one of the larger cities begin the process to rectify ther seniority issues? I am willing to help in whatever way I can do get the ball rolling.

The people on the committee were appointed. They are Nate Gushi LAX, Vinny Capitani TPA,Larry Sano PIT,Pat Rezler PHX, Steve Willis LAS,Ed Turner LAX.Pat Rezler is the former union president of TWU and other than the seniority committee he is not involved with the union. Nate Gushi is currently an AGC. I don't know anything about the other people. What can we do to get it changed? You can start by E mailing the IAM distict141chgo@aol.com talk to your local union rep.Elections are being held soon make sure you vote.

if you will look at page 4section B line 25 of the POS that was shoved down our throats: it states that they have to use the Allegheny-Mohawk Labor Protective Provision . Section 2,3,and 13 for seniority intergration can someone explain what section 2,3and13 are??
And besides i thought that Miklavic was suppose to be in charge of it but didn't he retire???

The former AWA guys are not for Canale. I dont' know the others. They are for fairness as best as can be attained. No one (except the top guy) will like the list because no one will agree with where they're placed. Everyone will have the view from their perspective (which centers around them) and if the list doens't agree with that, then it HAS to be wrong because I (we/you/us) are right. Senority will always be a sticky subject, and if you want to evaluate their decision, find out what criteria they used, and ensure it was applied fairly.
