This really gets my goat. There was a time when anyone on an Employee Term/Travel card was charged for travel on a yearly basis of about $115.00. Now a parent has to pay more than that on 1 R/T sometimes.

Also they have to pay for their lugagge. It's embarrassing to say the least. I'm not a cheap person when it comes to these things, com'on. Parents can travel on WN for free in some cases and not pay for anything.

I guarentee the Exec's families don't pay because they travel as Chairmans preferred correct?

B S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not uh...i dont think parents pay for luggage...pretty sure of this...

When you get their boarding pass it comes up $15.. It happened this morning...I was a little shocked.

Parents and other family members on the Term Pass do not have to pay for luggage. Are you sure they were parents of US employees? Were they booked incorrectly as SA7s or SA9s? If not, did you send a QIKFIX? I havent had any parents be charged yet.

Yep! took my mother this morning and my own station overrode it. Talked to our Management and they concurred. Only the employee doesn't pay. If some one knows the correct rules ....Jump in!

That should absolutely not have been the case!

From the June 12th AboutUS:

"Employees are exempt from all bag charges, as are all their dependents, including registered guests and parents. However, employees or family traveling on ED20 tickets, unaccompanied guest pass travelers (SA7P) and other airline employees traveling on space-available business or personal travel are not exempt"

I've heard cases though as well where agents have been confused about this policy; my suggestion would be to print out a copy of the rule so that you can show it to them if there is ever an issue.

Hope this helps!

THAT was your first mistake.... our management doesnt know policy so why would you listen to them?
Employees and those listed on your term pass DO NOT PAY to check a bag.
Only SA7s Buddy Passes and SA9s Other Airlines pay.

Did you send a QIKFIX on it? They can check it out and see why it asked to charge. Its not like the computer gets it right 100% of the time.

Joe Beery & Larry Lesueur are looking into it

unless of course the rules have "changed " .... like when the fares for our guest passes went up over night ... anyone besides myself remember that ?

ah well , i've heard speculation amoung some of the other workers that the company could begin charing the employee's to travel ... this is of course just talk amoung ourseleves , not a rumor just disscussion about what's going to happen next ...

yep i did make that suggestion when oil was 140 something a barrel ... now oil is around 100 ... so i'm not so willing to make that kind of concession ..

Well I did look further into it. Had a manager call the pass bureau and they said " No charge " for anyone listed on your TermPass. So the software needs to be fixed and a refund to any who have been charged........" Pass the word around "

An agent checking you in should not have to override the system.

waver codes and any other items than can and have fired many agents system wide!!!! We have to be careful of these baggage waver codes the do not want them waived. If they are let a manager give his sign and have a witness to their approval. DO NOT LOOSE YOUR JOB ON WAIVER CODES !!!!!!!!!
