Charging for Term Pass Travel

yep i did make that suggestion when oil was 140 something a barrel ... now oil is around 100 ... so i'm not so willing to make that kind of concession ..
You talk out of both sides of your mouth. Ounce you give it up you will never get it back.
You just don’t get it! on band wagon off band wagon

if i heard correctly yall used to pay to fly at some point on the east side in the past ....

As to talking out of both sides of my mouth ... i'm just a highly adapatable person , you have to change with the times or you get left behind ..When oil was at it's near high of 150 dollars a barrel we were starring at what could possibly have been the end of the road for us ...desperate times call for desperate measures , yada yada yada ... etc ..

isn't that the truth

charging to non rev may be the straw that breaks the employee back esp when the clueless Sandcastle keeps giving themselves 6 figure shares of stock and millions in bonus on the working forces back. They are disgusting

It was a yearly cost, very minimal, which allowed unlimited non-rev. It was done when the east employees made a lot more money than they do now.

According to the Department of Labor, if you made $50,000 per year in 1988, you would have to make $93,000 last year to equal your standard of living back then. You brag about your "pay raise" but seem completely ignorant about the real losses you incur.

Non-reving costs the company virtually nothing, yet you still seem to entertain such a concession.

Well I did look further into it. Had a manager call the pass bureau and they said " No charge " for anyone listed on your TermPass. So the software needs to be fixed and a refund to any who have been charged........" Pass the word around "

An agent checking you in should not have to override the system.

Let me clarify that the no charge is for baggage. I probably wasn't clear on that. sorry

Yes oh man I have cried wolf ,I see it coming ..

There are just too many factors working against the American economy

Our national government is almost at it’s maximum debt levels

Americas savings are on average near 0 as a population …

The war in Iraq has drained our treasury of almost 1 trillion dollars , money that could have been used to fix our economic problems …

So on and so forth .. You get the idea …

Little did I know that the price of oil would collapse due to the economy falling apart …

As each day passes more of our banks become weaker , and more private institutions face the specter of nationalization .Now the big three are starting to pander to the congress in order to get a 50 billion loan ..then we shall be next in line with our hands out , and after us , who knows ..

Are you saying that the price of oil is not based on global market conditions and is set based on how well or badly the US economy is doing?

looks like with the us economy faltering so too is the rest of the world ...

There may be an argument made which can justify flip flopping,
that being a flexiblity and openess to new ideas and circumstances.

However it's very difficult to justify a more insidious trait which
we sometimes see on this forum and that is: Flop Flopping

Delta pays to fly now.. like how it was in the 90s on US.

Yeah but DAL upgrades their employees, spouses, dependents, and parents into First Class and Business Class (T/A) when available and doesn't charge for customs and taxes.

But you can't wear flip flops and a tank top like on US........

Charging for n/r travel would be pretty ridiculous as most of us newbies that make jack-squat per hour are mainly only here for the benefits since we can't make a real living off these 1970's wages. I work around 90 hours a month and barely have money to pay bills, HELP support my family, put gas in my car and buy groceries. This job, though, has been my dream job since my first flight. If I were making $8 more per hour, I could maybe see paying to travel n/r.
