Company's Offer

<_< ------ Friend, we don't "have to" do anything! We have the power to shut this place down!!! People will only take so much before they say enough is enough! The big boy's are killing their meal ticket! And things could get ugly! But we are sailing in smaller, and smaller circles here and the pond is drying up! And sooner or later people will be desperate enough to find their back bone and say "NO MORE!!!" Screw the general public, and the big boys, They can walk! And so can we!!!!!!

Friend- You are right to some degree...., BUT....

1.) You can shutdown AA and Strike
a.) You can then, be forced back to work by a Preidential Emergency board.
b.) When that ends, you either take the contract AA offers you, or you are out the door.
c.) If all (3), Unions or even (1) was on strike. AA could ride it all the way to bankruptcy, and then dictate
the terms of your return, sanctioned by the U.S, Court System

2.) The big boys don't care about their meal ticket, namely you- Becasue-
a.) There is always somebody hungary, and ready to take your job.
b.) In doing so, when you are gone, a lower wage employee take your place, w/reduced vacation & Seniority.

3.) Since NAFTA, WTO, the PATCO strike, and Globalization- Corporations can seek cheap labor anywhere in
the world. These (3), things are what have broken the Unions in the U.S.
a.) Those that control the money, banking, and courts- own/control everything- They will take your/mine
measily little job, bankrupt us and stick it right up our a**.
b.) Then who comes crawling back, broke seeking a "JOB"

4.) Only when the U.S. populace rises up and says NO MORE, will changes come. Until that time, welcome to
The Fascist State of the United States- The best Govt./Law Money/Power can buy... :censored:

Do anyone read the papers or do you all think that the INDUSTRY is doing well and that there is money to be made. we are in a world of #$@! fuel is killing every airline, sure we made some money for a few years and no body gave us a taste our guys went in to grab what we lost when times were good, look what has happened in the last few months. Climate has changed boys, you can walk around with your blinders on but the team better grab what they can and let me vote on it before fuel hits 150 a barrel, laugh but see what happens in a few months. we need a little relief right now, this job needs a little cherry on it, hope the amfa attitude has a tight lid on it or our cookie jar will be placed on the top self out of reach, Oh and I heard that the bonus was pensionable, but that could be a rumour wait and see what our boys bring to us before we storm the castle.

If you grab what you can now and in two years when this bulls#$t contract expires and fuel is at you 150 dollars a barrel what will you do? give backs??

F$%K the bonuses! You must be a brainwashed guy from Dallas!

You say this job needs a little cherry on it??? This offer is a tiny little jimmy (sprinkle) on the Fat Ass American Airline bannana split ice cream.

A vote in favor of this is FOOLISH!!!

Doesn't look good

This looks more like something that should have been offered during the 2 week "intense" negotiations for an extension back in the fall of 2007. It sure doesn't look like something that would come from months and months of secret meetings.

It also looks the the TWU negotiators just collapsed to get anything they could because the amendable date passed.

Come on Dennis Burchette, get your hands down in the company's pocket. I make more than this offer working my part time job.

NOW SHOW US YOUR COMPRHENSIVE ECONOMIC PROPOSAL SO WE CAN SEE HOW FAR YOU CAVED IN.

This one scares me worse than anything in the package:
CREATE A JOINT COMMITTEE TO EXPLORE IMPLEMENTATION OF A VEBA TRUST ADMINISTERED BY THE TWU SIMILAR TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN UAW AND GENERAL MOTORS

And I suppose this must be ultra secret and unavailable for viewing...

IN ADDITION, THE COMPANY PRESENTED PROPOSALS REGARDING WORK RULE CHANGES IN EACH CONTRACT GROUP.

A VEBA administered by the TWU? No thanks.

A VEBA is not suitable for everyone. It is probably most appropriate for closely held businesses making substantial income and profit on a regular basis that have had to pay substantial personal or corporate taxes. If the owners need to protect assets from creditors or enhance their net estate with tax-deductible dollars, they will be very enthusiastic about VEBAs.

Is it really unrealistic to ask the my employer run the company like a real business instead of an executive piggy bank? Hardly.

If the company is doing well enough in their targets for the execs to pocket a windfall (regardless of its source), it's not unrealistic to expect some of their promises to be fulfilled.

Our concessions gave the company breathing room. We (the union people) actually tried to better the operation, all the time wanting to believe what we were being told - "millions saved hither, thither and yon", only to hear "sorry - we can give ourselves millions but you people don't get anything as you're basically worthless". That just doesn't sit right with me and many others.

It really doesn't matter, though, how anyone will vote. The contract will be accepted by Little Jimmy if voted down - the SOB used union funds and went to court to get that action OKd.
This is the direction the leadership at US Airlines needs to take.

It would be nice to know what they're proposing, since we're the ones that are going to have to eat it...

Look here til you get sick...offer turned down...profit sharing ???...yea, right...seen the price of jet fuel lately ??/....what a joke !!!

First off that post was assinine. Let me just say take off your blinders, because all you want is money. You are no better than mgmt. You I and everyone else on this board gave up a lot, to keep this company going, and I am not going to piss it down the drain, because someone like you who wants it now.

Take a look at yourself and what you got. AA did not come to your doorstep and ask you for a job did they. NO. you went to AA. Granted I am one that says wvery thing should be equal, but it will never happen.
You should get off your little pedistal, and realize that we are in tough times, noi matter how you me or any other employee likes it.

You take what you can get, and next time you pounce. Take off those rose colored glasses, for tommorrow you may be without a job.

P.S. you probably have like two years with company do you

Assinine? You mean ASININE don't you?

No, my post was not crass stupidity. What IS stupid is you coming onto a public forum and supporting something that continues to weaken and disrespect the AMT craft & profession behind an alias. If you are a twu rep. then state as such.

I do not have blinders on, which is what scares the $#!t out of people like you. I can read, comprehend AND remember what I read and what is done to my profession.

You claim you gave up a lot to keep AA going and will not piss it away? Again, who are you and second, this comment almost positively identifies you as a troll. I GAVE UP LIFE CHANGING WAGE AND BENEFIT COMPENSATION! Now, I want it back.

I am not on any pedestal, well maybe the pedestal of self respect which is one of the things you obviously gave up and do not wish to regain. Pounce? What are you, a frog? Pounce when? When the international/company tells you to? With your alias mentality there will NEVER be a time to POUNCE because there will always be a reason to "take what is offered".

I did come to AA for a job and they gave me one. I also bring knowledge, skill & integrity to my job and craft and simply want what was taken from me in the concessions, plus adjustments for inflation and a raise. If you do not like that then that is your right as a twu alias trolling fearful individual. Now, if what I believe and feel scares you then you will like to know that I am not alone. Come on out to Hangar 4 at DFW on nights where I work and try to pedal your ASININE comments and see the negative responses you get. You might wish to wear those glasses with a thick mustach as a disguise; you wouldn't want anyone to know who you really are.

Wow! I can't wait till the compaany union brings us this load of manure and tells us it's "The best deal We're gonna
git fellas!" "Better vote yes on this here one. Cuz the next one's gonna be worse!" Hell, the ONLY good thing in the whole mess is that it's only a two year term (No contract should EVER be longer than that.).

As for me, and any other self-respecting AMT....I think I'll vote NO!

In fact ANY proposal that's longer than two years, and doesn't immediately restore my license premium and my missing week of vacation along with a healthy raise (Enough to cover the increase in cost of living for the last five years, say 25%) and built in COLA is going to get the same NO vote!

A RIF'd AMT who's had enough,
Darryl

First off I will say I apologize for the outburst. I had a acouple to many last night.
Second I am not a troll.
Third I will stick to what I said, but cleaner. People like yourself have their own opinions, which I may not agree with, but accept. I will stay with what I said, we are in economical downturn, outsourcing is becoming the norm.
I am not happy with the proposal, but at this time with 125 dollar oil, the company back to its losing ways, I could live with it.
Am I happy with the execs bonus's, no and will never understand why they did it.
But if this is the best we get so be it.
Everyone wants what we had in 2001, its just not going to happen. If the airline did shutdown where would you me and the rest of the twu be. On the streets.

A 17.5 percent paycut shoved up our arse 6 years ago.
This POS company doesnt even give us an hourly wage increase after enduring a six year pay cut.

8 years without a pay increase is unacceptable. How could anyone in their right mind even think about bringing this POS back to the members.

FU PAY ME

I beg to differ - we have the power to go on strike and allow the company to outsource everything. Evidently you haven't learned from watching what happened at Northworst and other airlines.

It seems this didn't get out of the negotiating committee - a wise move as the International liked the offer (anyone surprised?) and were it put to a vote, Little Jimmy would simply accept it after being rejected (remember - he used union funds that were supposed to be used for our benefit to go to court and get that ruling). Be very afraid. Once we vote on a contract (and if it's turned down), Little can accept it for us.

Back to the issue at hand - What are the "secret" work rule changes? Why is this info omitted? What are you damned people doing in Fort Worth, anyway?

Remember - we have the best company "union" money can buy.

Ain't That Right, Little Jimmy?
