Do the people that push the Visa cards in the terminal bother anybody besides me. They remind me of the people that push the games at the state fair. "Come on over everybody is a winner". I know its a money maker but there has to be a better way.

Oh man, those people are completely insane!!! I was commuting out of my uniform a few weeks ago and the guy was chasing me down the terminal. I actually was starting to get nervous because he had this look in his eye of "either sign up or I'll come to your house". I'm not to sure that if I were a paying passenger that I would appreciate being chased down and screamed at from clear across a room by some stranger trying to get people to sign up for a credit card.

You have described how many passengers feel about the tactics of many f/a's that pimp the BofA Visa card on the airplane. BTW, for the original poster, the terminal pimps plug the Mastercard.

I have flown almost all the majors and IMO US wins the prize for most pushy of all the airlines in going after you for a Credit Card. I mean in the terminals they chase you on the planes FA's try again. I also gotten emails and ads sent to me at home as well.

I refuse to do the "Cash Cow" as it is termed on the aircraft.

For those who don't know what I mean...we as f/a's get $50 for every approved credit card.

And the reason I refuse to pimp the VISA card is because I want a raise and improvements in my contract. I could make a nice little bit of change by hawking the card but I find the whole idea beneath my contempt.

I was not hired to hawk wares like a carney, I was hired as a safety professional.

Sorry, Piney, about your experience. I think those people are nuts too.

As an aside, if all the f/a's stopped selling the card, as a protest, it wouldn't surprise me that Bank Of America would be on the HOT line to DP and telling him to Fix It!!

They are after all one of our biggest investors.

i hate it when they ask"are you flying usairways ?" ahh no , i just like to be at the usairways terminal because it's nice looking.

I heard our contract with BOK is up soon but have to say that I too used to refuse to do Cash Cow because I think it is demeaning. However when a friend showed me her pay check with an extra 400 bucks from "pimping the Visa card" I knew it might be one less ETB trip to fly on my days OFF to be able to spend with my family so I have to admit I do it.

The Horror...The Shame...The Sorrow...Yeah folks this is why I'm glad to be Deaf I don't need to hear the Carnies but enough is enough when one of them walks between my path from Gate to Gate and throws an application in my face in CLT I was about to knock some Southern ass out but alas I was nonrevving and could not afford to start any ruckus up...besides miss my flight to beautiful San Jose, CR...no thanks...but the next time I go through there and if I see the same Barclays guys...I'll be sure to tell him to go pound mud...

They are set up in PHL near the crewroom and it never fails that they will try and make their pitch to me. In their opinion the perks of the card outweigh the perks of my job. LOL, I must say No Thank You five or six times before they stop following me.

I'll take the latter and ask for a new hire out of Flight Attendant school that wasn't employed previously by another airline 😉

MASTERCARD is pushed in the airport, not Visa. Visa in on the plane.

I know of two f/a's who are doing great at cash cow. One has made over 85,000 since it started and the other made over 40,000 last year alone. Good for them, If you don't want the card, then don't sign up for it. We are the lowest paid in the industry, if that cash cow keeps me from flying ETB trips, that's great. More time with my family. I do my luittle 45 sec. announcement, walk thru the cabin and thats it. No pressure to take one, or even to give it back to me before you leave the plane.

Sorry my mistake. I have never stopped to see which one it was they had. I don't blame the F/A one little bit. If I could make extra money I sure would. I have been on many flights and have never once heard a F/A sound like those people.
