CSA's Contract Negotiations

What's a CRJ800?

Never heard of that nor knew US Express flew them, lol

Been fearful of the 900 but CWA doesn't give a rats a$$ about this! Velvet only cares about RES primarily because she has no clue about customer service. Jeeez she is even involved with EN bargaining! Isn't that a CONFLICT of interest to you all?

Which raises the point that the airport agents probably are not served all the well by being in the same "class and craft" as the res folks. (No disrespect to the latter or their work). And I'm not sure how much she even cares about the res group all that much.

Why would anyone in a "President-for-Life" position a la a Third World dictator care that much about poll numbers?

Res has a much different ACP than customer service! A late under 15 minutes is a third if a point and there is a 3 point advantage between levels!
How can that be? Two groups under the same CBA?
Customer Service and Fleet Service with the same ACP under different CBA and RES under our CBA with a totally different ACP? Disparate treatment or ULP, and YES even under RLA you can cite unfair labor practice!

Velvet looking out for her own? And why would she care about scope provisions for the airport folks? Yes, it's great that the off shore res jobs are being insourced, but what about protecting airport jobs?

Oh and the last update on cwa.net is from September. And still no details on the LOAs agreed to and closed.

We heard about the insourcing back to RES. Does not take a rocket scientist to see that RES is going to become almost extinct with online res bookings,OCC and POC doing the rest.
RES will become the PIT of the future!

Just for kicks and giggles, I took a look at the cwa.net site. No updates for several weeks.

If you were in charge of the webpage, what would you have on there?

Hmm...
-Maybe a survey of top issues of concern for the new contract.
-A status update of major ongoing issues. ACP? Workbrain?

Thoughts?

United and American are offering an early out based on years of service .... this is a no brainier. Win, win if you ask me.

Anyone know if the CWA is on it?

Of course not, the teamsters are in control with a negotiator that will fail.
No aviation background, "HE IS A DELIVERY DRIVER" .
I heard him speak the first of the year in the break room he is all talk, checks in the mail !
Why are we forced to pay into the local special strike fund ? Think UPS !

Here is what the IAM/Teamsters got at UA. Nothing less for us. We took a huge haircut in BK court and have been surviving on 1991 wages for a decade. It's time to make a stand for a middle class wage package. Any thing less will be a total failure by our CWA negating team.

UNITED TEAMSTERS HIGHLIGHTS

The negotiating committee worked over the last two days to reach an agreement that addresses the primary concerns of the membership. Feedback from the survey helped to guide us during these last two sessions with the company and an agreement has been reached.

We are finalizing the documents for the secret ballot ratification process. We anticipate that the ballots will be mailed out in Late November or early December for a vote of the full membership to be completed before the end of the year.

The highlights of this new tentative agreement include:

• Maintain current UA medical benefits

Signing bonus of $11,500

• Extend protection of incumbent Leads for the duration of the new agreement

The Company commits to an Early Out Program with a max of $75,000 per eligible person

• Improved language for RQ/FST/MPA

Majority of the provisions in the initial tentative agreement were retained and will become effective if approved by the membership.

To reach these goals the following changes were made from the June tentative agreement which include:

Retain some current 2005-2009 CBA provisions such as Article 14 sick leave, number of paid holidays, and 401K contributions. Additionally the parties agreed to withdraw the $100 tool allowance, withdraw the 2.5% medical plan wage increase offset set for 1/1/2013, and move the
amendable date to 7/1/2013.

More details will be available in future updates. We appreciate the patience of all the members through this process.

I feel your pain. Go to www.pal1976 and check out the Mechanic & Related Negotiation Update Nov 16,2011. Current contract provisions calling for a timely settlement prove useless. Union updates also prove to be useless with their lack of any meaningful information. That's just the way it was, is, and will always be.
