Good news from the front! HP doesn't understand the concept of Mainline Express (who does!). They've made the comment "either you're mainline, or you're express". Guess what - they've decided you're mainline!

An annoucement should come out today detailing the re-integration of mainline express back in to mainline. Yes, you got it - that also means raises and/or snap-backs for all the mainline express agents! Congratulations!

what does that mean to the ramp agents in those cities that got turned to express or outsourced? I know in my city the inside agents will probably snap back to what it was before. but what does it mean for the ramp?

From what I understand this is an agreement that CWA negotiated. With that said, it will probably only affect inside agents. However, since the company is in this frame of mind, it may be something the outside agents could work towards.

Sounds like a "precedence" sp is being set. Good Luck and Congratulations.

Now, if this is true, is there a way to return to work after retiring?

Just posted on the CWA website:

US Airways passenger service pay step freeze will be lifted, Holiday Option II will be resumed, and Mainline Express agents will be increased to the Mainline rate of pay...
12-6-2005
The new Passenger Service Employee Association IBT + CWA has reached agreement with US Airways management on all the outstanding seamless service and transition issues, and we will accordingly withdraw our change of control grievance. After two months of negotiations by the committee (CWA Local Officers, attorneys and staff and IBT attorneys and staff) the agreement calls for the following:
1. End the pay step freeze for US Airways agents effective this coming April 1, 2006 – snap up to $18 per hour top rate from the current $17;
2. Reinstate the Vacation Option II (bid holidays as vacation) for US Airways effective the next vacation bid (Fall 2006);
3. Raise US Airways Mainline Express Agents to the Mainline pay scale in the following steps:
$.40 raise on 4/1/06;
four months later MLE Agents will be increased 25% of the difference between their current rate and the Mainline rate;
six months later MLE Agents will be increased to 50% of the difference between their then current rate and the Mainline rate;
five months later MLE Agents will be increased to 75% of the difference between their current rate and the Mainline rate;
five months later MLE Agents will be increased to 100% of the Mainline rate.
4. Raise America West Agents to the CWA US Airways Mainline pay scale in the same increments listed in #3 above.
5. Transition America West agents to all the other provisions of the CWA US Airways passenger service contract by 6/1/06, or send all unresolved issues to arbitration.
6. US Airways recognizes the CWA/IBT Association as the legal representative of the agents and the existing CWA US Airways Passenger Service contract remains in full effect.
7. “Seamless Serviceâ€￾ provisions for cross-utilizing US Airways and America West agents at overlap stations are established.

IAM? Paging the IAM?

What are you going to do for fleet service agents?

How about the ones you changed the furlough rules on?

we're getting ready to see if the IAM will support their agents, or continue to sell them out.

I'd bet the farm the agents on furlough will stay screwed! :angry:

Where's the IAM???? MIA, as usual, and I don't mean Miami either. I suppose the top dogs could be on vacation there with our dues Dollars since the cold weather is upon us. This is just another prime example of what your Union
COULD and SHOULD be able to acomplish for you if they were not "Asleep at the Wheel" as the IAM so often is. This is very good news for the CWA represented MLE employees, but I doubt anthing will happen for the FSA group. The IAM permitted the company to eliminate the MLE classification at the 11th hour before the last contract vote. I can only thank them once again for their lack of representation that put myself along with many others out on the street.
It would be nothing shy of a Miracle if the IAM were able to get the outsourced FSA agents their jobs back, but I won't hold my breath. :shock:

it is a start for the "West" side of things, but they are getting the same treatment as the MLE . and 2-2 1/2 years to level out pay. I am glad that they will be getting a pay raise, but what is the whole contract, less vacation, sick days etc...

So, can anyone explain to me in simple terms what this means for an HP rez agt?

it means you get put under their contract and have it until 2012 or so. of course they have'nt said have to intergrate, but they want the warm and fuzzy of a pay raise to coat over the rest...IMHO

So they are gonna at least grease us up before stickin' it to us... That is a positive step. <_<

I am a phx rez agent on "the floor" and have been trying to keep abreast of the news. If you read cwa.net if will give you the scoop. As of 1apr06 agents will receive .40 cents per hour. Now for the next step, 5 months from then ou need to read the cwa contract and look for their pay scale. Five months later you will get a pay raise of 50 percent of what their agents make. Fifty percent of the difference bewteen cwa agents current payscale based on years of service and what you are making. Five months later you will receive an increase of another 25 perenct of that difference and then 5 months later you should be making the same as a cwa agent based on years of service. I hope this clears it up a little. The most important part is to find out what the cwa contract pay scale is for your years of service.
If you read the contract it is a little murky as hp doesnt have as may differenct pay scales for the same jobs. I have emailed the teamsters and am waiting for a reply to see where we can get this info. PQA, as we have probably seen each other if not actually talked during the scope of our daily jobs, why dont you pm and maybe we can spread the word so others have the info. All in all, this is a good day for csrs expecially on the west side and am hoping for the best for the rest of the work groups. To the rest of you on this board, I always enjoy reading your posts and the info you provide is much appreciated, the occasional laughs are great and may all of you have a safe and Merry Christmas!

Congrats!! Hopefully a step in the right direction for all of us! Maybe the company and AFA can work out one of those #4 things for the U/West flight attendants to start bringing them up and at least give people some hope.

Also, no changes to vacations or sick days. That still has to be dealt with and I believe they are hoping to have it done by 1jun06. Hp has better sick day and vacation policy but what we will have to deal with is yet to come.
