Dec 2012 / Jan 2013 US Pilots Labor Discussion

Another westie trying to pretend to be an East pilot. I heard that the company is seriously looking at divesting itself of the Phoenix hub and base just to end the litigiousness of the west. They want the East stuff so bad that they want to impersonate them.

APA knows that they won't fare well in arbitration, as bankrupt carriers generally don't. They'll deal with USAPA, and I expect a fair SLI early in the process. By fair, I mean NO NIC. It's dead. Won't be back. Count on it.

I agree with you and I honestly believe our reps know the bind they're in. They've been painted into a corner and the only way out is by approving the MoU and the Nic. At least they can project blame on us again for voting it in if it comes to that.
Bingo!

Correct assessment.

Bill if that insinuation was made toward my direction then so be it. It amazes me that anytime someone has a diametrically opposing view from the extremists (of which your one obviously) you label them as pro-company or west. So be it.

I completely disagree with your post and there isn't one piece of fact you can back it up with. Fantasize what you will but only you and a few others believe that PHX is going away and it isn't. And I have yet to hear of anything other than the Nic being used to represent our group. I can't imagine a pilot group going through SLI twice and I doubt we will. As for litigious, I'd say we have the west beat. Because of MC we were hauled into court. The next few days are going to either make us richer or continue our misery. Of this merger fails, Parker will file an actual appeal and we continue this for years.

You heard that the company wanted to divest of PHX. Where or who did you hear that? Mad mut, claxon, luv? Another reliable source? Better take a look at the base structures in a combined airline. Lax would not support the entire west coast. Many reasons.

Really. How is it you know that the APA will not fair well in an arbitration?

Since the APA has already said that they expect to integrate by ratios.

You say that BK carriers don't do well. So you admit that the Nicolau was fair because you were in BK when we merged and you got more than you should have.

MOU for sure, including the NIC?, not a given.

Do you think the MOU is going to include PBS or line bidding?
Do you think the NAC is negotiating pay rates or going to accept the AMR rates?

Why do you think the company is not going to also dictate the Nicolau? They are dictating other items usapa is allowed to "negotiate"?

The Nicolau like PBS is a no go item, deal breaker. The APA has already agreed to PBS, why would they not agree to an arbitrated list and avoid the litigation, time and expense of something other than an arbitrated list? They don't have a dog in this fight and they don't care if it is an east or west pilot senior to them.

It is the Nicolau and an MOU or the Nicolau and a joint contract stand alone. The other choice is loa93 until retirement.

The way Parker designed the CLA with the APA leaves USAPA irrelevant. Vote the MOU up, vote it down, it doesn't really matter. USAPA does not have the ability affect the outcome of the UCC's decision to proceed with any plan the Judge passes.

Truer words have never been written on this board.

Dumber words have been written on this board - but these are pretty damn dumb!
