I stipulated that the four year fence would go down with the change of the retirement age in my post. Maybe we could institute an automatic 20 year fence to be implemented when a larger, angrier pilot group refuses to abide by an arbitration.

"We" can't guarantee any fences if we (LCC & APA) go to arbitration.

That is a process of the final and binding arbitration.

So we want all the money, all of the benefits, all of the pay that we are entitled to, all of the other guys benefits, all of the other guys toys, and we want it all right now...I've seen this somewhere before....

Let's take a look at the DAL / NWAL merger. Ratioed integration. SMALL fences. BIG pay. Company does SO WELL that it negotiates a second post merger contract 7 MONTHS EARLY. Pilot group generally happy. Be still my heart: A fair ratioed integration, pay, benefits, and a union that works within the rules.
The only problem here is that a big raise for U drags the operation down..... CAL Brought the East coast and Latin america to UAL. NWA brought ASIA and KLM/NATL to DAL.

True that. Wait till AA management works a deal so bad that you LCC people never dreamed of not caving to the APA like AirTran caved to the LUV boat. You guys will cave under APA before you ever see arbitration. You almost deserve it. No, you really do deserve it when you sign up for it.

You have not figured out yet that usapa can do anything their little hearts desire and it is OK. usapa gets to tell Parker, the UCC, american, the APA the west pilots, courts everyone how this is going to go down.

The 100K is for losses from our abrogated CBA. It has absolotely nothing to do with LCC.

The Leonidas boys thought you would love the young uns going on top. Not very believable but they claim to have their fingers on the pulse of the industry in this regard.

totally different time and cicumstances. What has history shown us? What has prevailed? you'd better ask your TWA friends where they stand. DFR has fallen on ALPA and the TWA Pilots prevailed.

AA is very different than TWA. TWA was flat on its back and in order to move forward, labor at TWA was asked to waive their LLP's so they didn't liquidate.

AA proviveded DIP financing in the hundreds of millions to prevent TWAs liquidation.

AA has never been asked to do this and Parker runs the risk of AA emerging w/o him............. and then what??

Score zero LCC pilot group. Thats what

Parkers biggest fear, and a fear that should be yours too is the possibility of this merger slipping through his hands

The flight attendants stapled all the TWA F/A's. Based on where we are today at AA, with no visible TWA presence or fleet, they did the right thing.

[font="Times New Roman""]The USAirways pilots, with the “turbulence” of 9-11’s perfect storm, agreed to relax section 1 scope with job protections for the USAirways pilots and pilot furloughees…”soft landings”. We all know what a failure MDA was, and are reminded of that everytime a Republic Airlines 170 goes by, or, as the case a few weeks ago in DFW, a USAirways crew watched a MidWest Express 170 taxi by with a MD tail number. We all know what a failure the “jets for jobs” program was also, as our furloughees were subject to low pay and horrible working conditions at many of our partner regional airlines. It didn’t seem to work out much better for US Airways either. [/font]
[font="Times New Roman""]One of the most notorious regional airlines with notably horrible pay and working conditions was MESA, led by the anti-labor CEO Jonathon Ornstein, which was quickly putting a plan in place to undercut Scope provisions and gain an advantage, a la Frontier Horizons, New York Air, et al, over his own unions with the creation of Freedom Airlines.[/font]
[font="Times New Roman""]So, while airline MGT teams were gleefully gutting contracts, furloughing pilots, terminating pensions, and extracting huge concessions from labor under the bankruptcy code, threat of liquidation, and the turmoil after 9-11, some MGT teams went further, like MESA did to extract even more through the creation of an alter-ego airline.[/font]

[font="Arial""]Trying times continue and will only intensify for the pilots of US Airways, including those based at the PHL Domicile.

We need dynamic thinkers, good listeners and confident decision makers responding to the various pressures exerted on USAPA, by management, APA and others who don’t always have our best interests at heart; even those entities who claim they do.

What we don’t need is a Chairman who is passive, accepting and gullible, even one who might be likeable enough. These next few months, perhaps the next couple of years, (depending upon the merger outcome) - will be literally pivotal for determining our working conditions. Our status as equals with original American pilots is very much in doubt, based on the current MOU.

Paul DiOrio has years of experience in negotiating the terms of our contract and he is intimately familiar with the nuances of that document, as well as the Green Book, should that become our working agreement, this knowledge will be very useful in his dealings on our behalf.

I endorse Paul DiOrio not because he is always a “nice guy”, although I personally like Paul. He is not a guy with whom I always agree. We need Paul DiOrio now, because he is a strong personality, who believes what he believes and can defend those positions in negotiations and debates.

Paul listens; he has listened to me and vice versa and we both have had our positions influenced by the other; THAT is a very good thing. Paul thinks for himself and yet is open to the ideas of others. He can be persuasive. These are traits that will come in handy in dealings with everyone, from his fellow Board members, to the Chief Pilots, as well as upper management.

My vote for PHL Chairman is Paul DiOrio and I hope we all will give Paul serious consideration.

Right, the fence came down at about the earliest we would have been able to have a joint bid with the west, SO NO FENCES. The psuedo fence is because of the flawed T/A that you guys learned from. It has cost both sides.

According to your guy at the roadshows, the "bidder-US" strengthened your hand. I trust him more than you.

On Jan 27th, in post #4892 you said:

Most people consider " a couple" about 2. 2 years from today would be 2/1/2015. I am a current east A320 captain, paid $124.88 an hour with a 10% DC contribution for an effective rate of $137.36. I'm on reserve, so lets go with 76X137.36=10,439.36 a month. So to make 100% more I would have to produce $20878.72, right? I actually averaged over 80 hrs a month last year, but we'll give you a headstart.

The MOU rates for an A320 Captain on 2/1/15 shows $186.53 with a 16% DC contribution for an effect rate of $216.37. Now let's say that because of the fences and attrition you are counting on I can be a block holder and I max out my month at 90 hrs. So 90X 216.37=$19.473.73. So, even with making the best/worst assumptions, you are wrong. And that is with an apples and oranges comparison. Apples to apples it's less. Absent a merger we will probably get a contract by 2015 and even if it is not as rich as yours, it would still close the gap. Good, yes, but not what you said.



You also told NYC busdriver "We have a signed CBA, with rates twice the East rates...." Also, not true, so I stick by my claim, you are a tool.
