Wait what minute? Your post 5957 is something I would post almost to the word. So I'd say you and I are more in agreement than you are with East. And there are mare than a "few" east pilots that think the Nicolau is not something that we can merely brush off. Most won't talk about it publicly for obvious reasons. Look at how you and east automatically assign a west tag or management shill to me just because I don't harrumph anyone who posts anything other than the Nicolau is dead.

No offense meant. I've just felt that you and I had different views on the Nic. You know web board posts can be difficult because, unless you post like metroyet, it's hard to understand tone. When you first arrived here your posts about the Nic seems more supportive of it than whether we are stuck with it. Maybe I got that wrong and we are more alike, but there was something there that made me question you.

I don't think the Nic is "dead", I really don't know what it is. I think it was one of the worst arbitrated SLIs ever produced and that Nicolau helped put us where we are. If you were a lurker the last few years then you have seen me go back and forth with west guys over it. I never thought USAPA would get as far with DOH as they have, and I was wrong about that, but I was pretty convinced that it would come with a high cost. But, I cannot follow the logic of some here that say the Nic has been cemented if this MOU and merger go through.

We'll see about the Nic, but I think many on both sides share our views on the MOU. Interestingly, many that agreed with me on other things disagree on the MOU. That is how thing usually work out, we have just been so polarized by the Nic that people think that they have to always agree with their "side."

No Chip, there could be more.
It COULD rain shiny gold coins from the sky too.

You COULD someday have a rational thought.

usapa COULD treat the west pilots fairly.

But the likelihood of those things like the company offering more is approaching zero just like Parker told you your chances of winning loa 93 were.

My God....getting furloughed from US Air after 9-11 was the best thing to ever happen to my career! You guys have lost your minds.

Glad things worked out for you. Is there some specific thing you would like to help us with or was the "you guys have lost your minds" just an all around comment?

You are a one note fiddle.

We get it. You voted "no."

Most of us are voting "yes." It's probably going to pass.

Do you really think you are influencing anyone here? By now we are all on one side of the fence or the other. Give it a rest already. You are starting to sound obnoxious.

Careful with that kind of talk. The little General is going to label you a west pilot and a management shill. Isn't that right eastus1?

The MOU does not cement the Nic.

The Nic was cemented the day Nicolau published the award.

The MOU move us forward to the eventual implementation of an already cemented Nic.

I guess it's more of a comment from a disinterested outside observer looking at 10,000 pages of purely useless venom while also observing that 12 YEARS after my furlough, things have gone so poorly for my former colleagues. Much of which seems to have occurred due to bad info, bad choices, and bad planning. I certainly don't know all the details, as evidenced by this being my 5th post here since sometime in 2002 but its hard to ignore that fact that the Pilots are as much to blame for this situation as anybody else. Hence, the "lost your minds" comment. No specific offense intended.

No offense taken. Its frustrating how the mob mentality always seems to take hold with our pilot group and it always becomes a case of "if you're not with us 100%, you're against us." East is a prime example of that mentality with his disparaging "shill" remarks. I refuse to get on that "Nic is dead" bandwagon because I don't see it. Its not that I don't support it, but just because I don't support it doesn't mean its not a possibility. There is a reason the company is looking for guidance from the courts to move off of it and I think its because they see the potential litigation associated with that. They want an answer to throw either at AoL or USAPA as to why they've taken their final position which, btw, is still the Nicolau. If I had money to bet, I'd bet we see this list in the near future.

Who are you with now?

None taken, I agree with a lot of that!
