Regardless of what everyone thinks, personally I do not believe this is a "merger" - more like a "takeover" - - I, for one, will miss the NWA livery ----if this goes through....
 
i was told by a few delta-comair employees at my station that this is more of a take over and that delta own nwa

I think it's considered a merger because it's a share swap rather than one buying the other for cash. I think that's why it's technically considered a merger rather than an outright acquisition. I'm not sure on that but that's what I've read here and there.

Does anyone know what the plans are for the DC-9's? I sure don't want to fly on 40 year old airplanes and am hoping that they are going to get rid of those things before all work groups are completely merged.

I hear the DC-9 will be retiring, but that's all speculation so who knows. When this merger finally comes together, we will all be lucky to have our jobs. What concerns me and others besides the DC-9's are the 50-seat RJ's... :huh:

Ever fly on a KC-135 Stratotanker??? Those are '50's bodies with today's technologies built in. They are still flying safely in the Air Force and are still performing effective missions worldwide.
