From NWAFA FB group:
IAM equals the new Teamsters
Unfortunately, the IAM has turned to corruption as the Teamsters did in the 1970's. I say this as a retired IAM member. It never was like this before but I hope the IAM relinquishes its organizing rights on the Delta Flight Attendants. As an IAM member, I can tell you that you are better off being non union, you have more rights, more automony, more pay, more benefits, and have no need of the IAM. If your employer took away some of the privileges you now enjoy then you still shouldn't look towards the IAM. The only ones pushing the IAM are making big money from the IAM to push them. They won't tell you that, but that's how it works. Their names don't show up on the LM2 documents because the union regulatory requirements allow them to show 'general expenses' and cash disbursements under general titles. But most organizers from within a group are making cash equivalents of at least $50,000 plus whatever they are making from their employer. It's not a bad gig and who could blame them. But that's no reason for signing a card.
