Great idea...
But if Cactus Breath wants to make someone his biatch...
I wouldn't want to expose any kitten to that...
Cactus Breath....ain't worthy...

Just my opinion...

That's the problem with you guys - you see what you have today and forget about where you came from - the grave. You have seen the spoils and want to reincarnate the past at the expense of the West.

Turn back the clock mr. righteuos guy to May 2005 and eat those words. East was done, cooked, carved, and ready for serving. Only today, after AWA sacrficed to save you, do you sit there on your fat a$$ beatchin and complaining about something you feel entiteld to. I am growing more disgusted by the minute.

Yo cactus breath...
Look at the financials...
Who makes more money for the company...
US West... I think not...
Rasberrys to you buddy...

Just my opinion...

Thanks, but I have plenty of pussy around - coast-to-coast

Yo Cactus and Tuna...
You didn't sacrifice anything...
You don't know the first thing about sacrifice...
How dare you compare USAirways to a grave...

Tell me guys...
Do you think this was a merger or acquisition...
And know the definition before you speak...
US brought most of the financial backing to the merger...
without that...The merger never would have happened...
Period...
It was the sacrifice of the east...which you are gloating about that is the problem...
Kickem when there up... Kickem when there down...
Yea great attitude...

Once again....

Both of you guys are the weakest link...

Goodbye...

Just my opinion...

Well, then to paraphrase a well known American jurist, "If it does not fit, you must keep it split".

You and others on the West have made it clear that you wish this merger did not happen. And even your own MEC has stated they are not happy with the award - that you could and should have done better.

So lets keep the lists separate. If not de jure then de facto. One suggestion was permanent fences. Each pilot group can go forward as though the award never happened. It will be just like before - only different.

And I will take your bet on whether the East will shrivel up if the operations are kept separate.

Your opinion is wrong!

All of the financial adjustments were done in the two bankruptcies. Were you going to take another significant RIF and paycut, get rid of more planes, find more foolish billionaire investors to lose money and have a third trip through bankruptcy? "US brought most of the financial backing to the merger" ???!!!???? WHERE DID YOU GET THAT OPINION? Your only alternative was liquidation. The financial markets knew this. AWA,Parker, and the new financiers were, what is known in the business, the White Knights that came to the rescue. They took a chance that the sum of the parts, with a commensurate amount of employees to run the smaller operation, when cleaned up and trimmed, was a greater value then the few valuable parts, such as the shuttle, gates and slots in DCA,LGA,BOS,the PHL international operation, and little else. You would have been parted out and liquidated and the only crew members with jobs would have been the Shuttle pilots like EAL, and maybe some international crews like Delta accepted from Pan Am.

Now, the risk they took, the single most important issue that all of the naysayers will be saying "I told you so" about, the horrible attitude of the remaining USAir employees and their inability to deal with all of the misfortune that has befallen them, most of it beyond their control and a result of baaaad management and 9-11, could sink the airline.

For those of you who desire to torpedo this place because the seniority integration did not go your way,,,,, Shame on you! With the operation truly 100% functional, and all of the merger related integration problems out of the way, this place could be a real winner and we, as employees could be too. There have been some casualties. Those at the end of their careers may run out of time. Those furloughed may not benefit as much, but, the majority of us can make a real go out of this airline. Combining the attrition of the east and the growth plans of the west, will open up opportunities for advancement. We may just have to be patient.

Wow...
Let me say that again...Wow...

PA...

The sacrifices, spoken here are the paycuts, the lost pensions, the lost duty rigs, the lost vacations, the lost abilities for improvement..., basically everything...

You act as if YOU had that happen to you... The East did... Twice...

Also, if you want to be direct about it...DP didn't get PAR, Fidelity, Airbus, and GE abord for the financials to exit BK. U did...

As equiptment go, the east hardware was completely levereged. Meaning...Both parties brought something to the table to merge to begin with...

All DP had to do was sell this to the BK judge to exit...

And, by the way... who are you to tell me my opinion is wrong...

Just my opinion...

The extreme reductions in every aspect of your career from professional pride, to money, to quality of life to seeing co-workers furloughed are regrettable, but no fault of AWA's. With the financing from the above organizations and others, the AWA-lead life preserver was extended to you. There was and still is much work to be done to make this a money printing airline. The furloughed workers were excess to the needs of the airline both then, and, for the most part, now, but they do have some hope for recall, by accelerated growth and by a slight increase of attrition as compared to the last snapshot of the individual USAir.
How can you put a price on the existence of the airline?

Those financiers were not there before the AWA proposal and you know it!

AWA, when we were really flying 747's, andnot just dreaming about flying UAL's, did go through bankruptcy. We dealt with furloughs, pay freezes, stagnation, professional shame, divorces, bankruptcies, foreclosures, repossessions, heck,,, my dog hated me when I switched from premium food to the cheap stuff, wives going to work, nannies raising our children, etc. We are veterans of the same war. Our ATSB loans were similar to CH 11 after 9-11 also. Oh, and we were never close to the highest paid narrow body pilots in the nation, in fact, we were always the lowest!

Who am I ? Just an opinionated know-it-all like most of us who post our opinions.

Wow - as a paying customer this thread sure does make me glad I don't fly on US anymore! Afraid of what might happen if I ever had to connect through PHX or LAS via an East flight crew!

It does amaze me though - people at the old US just don't seem to get it - US was acquired by AW - this was no merger. US was going to be liquidated - and AW prevented that from happening - and if you don't believe that then I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn I'd like to talk to you about.

So for all of you East people - yeah it sucks - but bottom line is you were part of an acquisition - happens all the time in coprorate america - and it's never fair - happened to me and I got layed off - and the people that got acquired are not the ones that call the shots and come out on top.

So suck it up - or get out for your own sanity.

Ok you win. I am sure you will have real fun flying with us. We are not new hires here. I pity any of you that bid out east. Let the fun begin prick

For the millionth time...Amateur West had no money to acquire anyone!

It's not about the money. Whose management is still in charge? Who is calling the shots? Who is determining the business strategy? and on and on.

Money has nothing do to with it.
