Nobody should dispute what US Air's history is and the employees that got it there. America West also has a history, with great people that started the company and a spirit within that kept the company alive. Both companies have exciting histories for those that lived it. The difference? America West was created post de-regulation as a "low far" airline competing head on with Southwest Airlines for over 20 years in the same hub and has survived. It is with that strategy that was needed to keep US Airways alive. Nobody saved anybody, but both parties together needed to happen no matter who likes it or who doesn't.
Thank God for Pineybob!
know as the "Best in the Business" and US Air was was approached by other major airlines to train their pilots. a Very Proud USAir/PHL employee
You go Prop!!!!![]()

You poor pathetic thing...I think your disdain for USAir has to do with the fact that they overlooked your resume....not quite up to our standards. If I were you, I would get my facts straight before spewing your crap all over this website.
Entitled attitude?
Guess you have no clue of what East employees have done to save this company.
Back in 1992 everyone took concessions to keep the place in business.
Through two bankruptcies employees took three rounds of concessions and the loss of pensions and many jobs to keep the company in business.
I could keep going on and on, but you have no idea of what you speak about and your name says is all, RETIREE, you have no cohorts out there, you are gone.
Scofield, Wolf, Siegel = two bankruptcies and one very near liquidation.
East employees...the same.
Doug and AWA come along = profits.
Total BS. Why is it then that I make more than an East f/o 20 years older?
Uh,you should go watch the pilot and f/a videos on the hub.Doug explains to them that AWA was real close to fileing for relief also. The merger brought together 2 carriers that needed help.I wont go into were the profit came from. But you need to do your homework before playing almighty.
And as for pilots and there ego's,the first plane was built before it was flown,It takes alot more thaan you just jumping into the seat to make a sorte happen remember that youll feel better.
Were all proud of what we do,I like fix'n em.Its fun.
What we all need is what WN has, belief in what were doing.
And then the pride and training will show and we will sore.. But or leadership needs to get onboard with the rest of us and do the right thing.![]()

The trainers and their management did not listen to the agents during SHARES training, or act when told of the shortcomings of SHARESThis total BS, where have you been buffalo....anyone that says management hasn't listened to employee at US Airways under the merger, is grossly mistaken.
