Why do I think if you had to work your job that way for 90 days that all of a sudden the "Tagging" would go wayyyyyy down.
Typical attitude
EVERY contract has ways to "Work Around" certain elements if they wanted to.
Yes look at all the great things your union contract has gotten you over the last 6 years. With anymore scarry help like that you'll starve to death.
This is very true on the west. And it's because the contract on the west is so vague. So you can look at a sentence on the contract and it could be read several different ways, so the schedulers can pick what they want it to mean. The east it only means one thing and that is what the schedulers go by.EVERY contract has ways to "Work Around" certain elements if they wanted to.
Without knowing a lot more about the West F/A contract than I do, I can only say that PineyBob could have a point. It all hinges on one question - does the contract say that tagging must be used instead of HOT coverage? You miss the point....the schedulers have no job(union) protection, therefore why would they not follow the contract/far's/and company policy?...buh bye wiggle room

It doesn't say anything in the contract about tagging first before hot coverage.Without knowing a lot more about the West F/A contract than I do, I can only say that PineyBob could have a point. It all hinges on one question - does the contract say that tagging must be used instead of HOT coverage?

exactly....Then there's the wiggle room, at least in some circumstances....
At least from what's been posted here, it sounds like HP scheduling automatically tags (either at the end of their trip or called from home) a reserve rather than use HOT reserves when enough may be available.

....before my wake up call they called....on a 10 hr overnight.
