Employee Rewards For Not Coming To Work

And what about the other 80+ stations where there are employees?

They will send a bill for the imputed income incurred on the purchase of a $4000 tv, before you can pick it up.

MarkMyWords:

I agree with you here... 700UW, and others, all call for management to take some new steps in Employee relations, and then when they do, you just whine and moan, "How come I didn't get mine!"

Since the Eagles were in the game, and the Christmas meltdown was in PHL, this was, in my opinion, an excellent first step in mending employee relations. Now, its true, you cannot please all of the people all of the time... But at least the company presumably pleased some of the people.

My only criticism of this event is that the employees at JAX were not somehow included. I am sure they have been going above and beyond the last few days, and will be during the next few days, as folks begin to leave.

Behavior modification occurs through reward and punishment. CCY is, at least in this one instance, trying to begin a long road of mending fences. If the employees punish CCY for this attempt (i.e. grievances because PVD employees were included but not MHT employees, etc), then this will be the last time this happens, and US Airways can continue down its path or horrible employee relations. Or, you can respectfully offer suggestions to improve these programs in the future.

Yes, wages were slashed. The workforce is demoralized. Thousands were furloughed or terminated. But, if you folks want the company to survive, then the employee relations crap has to bottom out somewhere... and here, CCY is at least making an effort to work with what little resources they have. Cut them a break, for once.

This could be a new tradition at Airways in the cities that reach the Super Bowl. The company is finally in a position financially to do something positive to show our appreciation to the employees.

bribe you to come in and do what we already pay you for???

FYI-The TV's are 55" Mitsubishi HD projectors. There were 6 in PHL yesterday set up in various break rooms, the company also got abot 300 pizzas for us.

They stand in line and are not hardliners so they get nothing plus this way management can enjoy the day off and game they won't have to come in to work for others. This is really about rewarding management.

It is my understanding there was a noticeable spike in sick calls, but PHL was able to reallocate resources and do the best with what they had. Their departure performance was outstanding given the circumstances. While there were some cargo loading delays, there was no operational melt down and more drastic measures were not needed.

To Stoopidute442 -

I hope the folks in PHL enjoyed the pizza and got to see some of the game. To the six people that won the TV's, CONGRATS! I hope it won't be much longer until the vacancies are filled and life will become BETTER then normal. 😀 The performance stats in PHL for yesterday and today were an awesome start, keep up the good work. Hopefully the rolling hub concept is helping.

Keep up the great job and thanks for coming to work yesterday to do your part.

The operation was a smooth as a whisle, and the sick calls were down comparably.

I called c/s and asked.

From another web page:

Employees Not Happy
With US Airways Recent Incentive Offer

Employees around the system are not happy about the Super Bowl TV and prizes offer for those in Philadelphia, Providence and Boston.

The employees hold nothing against those cities because of the offer, but think that it should have been a systemwide offer.

Basically the impression that US Airways has given to the employees is if your short help and have attendance problems, we're going to reward you for showing up to work. If a station does not have an attendance problem, they get nothing.

Most of the employees we asked believe that Jacksonville, FL should have been included in that offer, they were the host city for the Super Bowl having to deal with the extra passengers. Orlando was booked to 106% because of the Super Bowl and was offered nothing.

What about the smaller cities who don't have football or baseball teams or any other major events, are they not to received incentives for showing up to work from the company?

Should Orlando and its employees, who will be hosting NASCAR's Daytona 500 on February 20th be offered incentives show up to work that day?

So how did the raffle go for those big screen tv's in PHL anyway? I've heard some wild rumors about those tv's. Anyone that was there or in the know care to comment?

I am sorry, but nobody should have had this opportunity.

I have a good incentive for PHL employees. COME TO WORK AND KEEP YOUR FRIGGIN JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe this company has to bribe PHL employees to come to work. I know a few other cities had it, but come on.......we all know it was for PHL. When will this company learn that PHL is a mess.
