I agree with you here... 700UW, and others, all call for management to take some new steps in Employee relations, and then when they do, you just whine and moan, "How come I didn't get mine!"
Since the Eagles were in the game, and the Christmas meltdown was in PHL, this was, in my opinion, an excellent first step in mending employee relations. Now, its true, you cannot please all of the people all of the time... But at least the company presumably pleased some of the people.
My only criticism of this event is that the employees at JAX were not somehow included. I am sure they have been going above and beyond the last few days, and will be during the next few days, as folks begin to leave.
Behavior modification occurs through reward and punishment. CCY is, at least in this one instance, trying to begin a long road of mending fences. If the employees punish CCY for this attempt (i.e. grievances because PVD employees were included but not MHT employees, etc), then this will be the last time this happens, and US Airways can continue down its path or horrible employee relations. Or, you can respectfully offer suggestions to improve these programs in the future.
Yes, wages were slashed. The workforce is demoralized. Thousands were furloughed or terminated. But, if you folks want the company to survive, then the employee relations crap has to bottom out somewhere... and here, CCY is at least making an effort to work with what little resources they have. Cut them a break, for once.
