Future Airline Disaster

Well local that isn't exactly the answer I was looking for. I would like to say that the first night we serviced some aircraft engines with skydrol also. That was when we discovered that the JET MOBILE II oil servicing units had been filled with skydrol. I am sure you know that this is absolutely impossible to have happened by accident or by someone having their head up their asses

i happen to work at a outstation for an unnamed aircarrier and see NW pilots commuting all the time...i asked a couple when the strike just started how things are going and they all said "after all the ground equipment was fixed that had been sabotaged....things are going good" so yes i believe stories like oil being replaced with something else. the pilots were not to happy

We've heard the stories before. In 1992, I was a mechanic at U when we went on strike. There was hydro fluid put into the oil service pots which was meant to destroy the oil seals in the service pots. I am sure the hydro made it's way into engines "by mistake". There was also hydro in the push tractors radiators and all the tow pins were "missing". During these times, emotions take over common sense. What the people are doing because of anger could turn into something real bad. It does not mean it was the replacement workers fault, but they should be a little more educated and wise now.

I find it really amazing how you union guys can do no wrong. It is always the other guys fault even when there isn't another guy.

Since when is it wrong to follow procedures established by the Engineering Dept of AA ?

Amounted to a couple hundred hours less labor, IIRC.

You are correct that AA and CAL management was looking for a shortcut method to save time[money]. It turned out to be a very bad decision and the NTSB report makes that clear.
