Consent is a legal issue. A 13 yr old cannot sign a contract due the fact that they cannot legally give consent. An opinion caries no legal weight and can be rendered by anyone.

I dont care what other people do so long as it has no affect on me. If someone wants to smoke they should be allowed to do so so long as I dont have to inhale it. Other people getting married has absolutely not affect on my life in the slightest so who cares.

You seem to be under the impression that you can take your beliefs and force them on others. The COTUS and the courts say you cannot do that.

Same sex marriage will be accepted as the law of the land. Seems like it will be much sooner thant I thought.

As someone else framed it. Who owns your body? You or the government? If you own it then the goverment should have no say what you do with it.

The 14th amendment says nothing about moral laws it only says that all laws must be equal for all people in the US.

If you haven't figured it out yet, most of our laws are based on morality.
Bestiality law is a morality law.
Having sex with minors is a morality law.
Abortion limitations is a morality law.

Morality is relative. Thats why in KY a 15 yr old (I think) can get married. I think pedophilia is a onsent issue not moral. Does a child have the capacity to make an informed decison. Abortion is a religious issue. For someone of faith its moral, for a non believer such as my self its a decision to be made by the woman and I respect her decision since it is not my body.

The laws may be losely based on morality, what ever that is but they are applied equally independant of any moral guidence.

Same sex mariage may have opponents whos opposition is based on moral grounds but the law pertaining to the application of the law has no moral component. All the 14th says is that everyone is entitled to due process and everyone is equal under the law. Personal morals do not enter into the equation.

Also, any law based on morals must have a legal basis. You may think it is morally wrong to eat pork. There is no legal basis upon which to ban pork so that law wont fly.


Not all laws are moral either. The ban on euthanasia is one that many feel is not moral or legal

LUV you Sharon, but my church taught me how I was going to hell for this, or going to hell for that.  Today I am divorced, not because I wanted it.  But if I find a woman to spend my life with, I'm going to hell for that too...unless I pay the $$$ required to get my previous marriage  (which produced my most beautiful daughter) annulled (meaning it never happened).  I found a faith that tells me I am good.  That tells me my ex wife is good.  That tells me that there is a God who loves me, and who isn't taking notes to hold against me when I get to the next world.

I keep hearing you say that what people do in the privacy of their own lives is their own business.

The problem is of course that gays do not keep their private life private. They "advertise" the gay lifestyle every chance they get.

Stop telling me it is none of my business when the gay population makes such a point of making "the gay lifestyle" a public display. If they are going to make something so public they should expect the public to get involved. If you wish to air your opinions you should expect others to air theirs without a terrorist group like GLAAD getting involved because gays did not like what was said.

Hollywood has turned being gay into a stereotype. It is a media attempt to "brand" being gay. It is an attempt to "market" homosexuality.

You say I have no right to interfere with others rights.

What about my right not to be flooded by a left leaning media with homosexuality every time I leave my home?

You keep bringing up religious zealots.

You try to infer that no other groups have issues with homosexuality.

I myself am not overly religious (I do believe in God). I usually make decisions based on logical analysis of available information. In my view homosexuality is wrong because it is very obvious and very factual that sexual contact between a man and a woman produce a baby. This is a truth that cannot be denied, not even by a liberal. When you couple two of the same sex it goes against nature’s very design.

Are you trying to convince me to deny a logical truth based on your fantasy land wants? Have you considered the implications for our society by altering the foundation on which families have been built for thousands of years? Do you seriously believe that when you change the family dynamic that there will be no consequences? Look at our society today. Look at the crime rate. Do you not think broken homes have anything to do with that?

Just remember, the family unit is the basic building block of a society, once you tear that down expect a domino effect. We are already seeing the effects of that with the rising divorce rate.

You are a fool following fools down a path of self destruction. If you want to destroy yourself that is your business but I will be damned if I am going to sit silently while I pay the price for your stupidity.
