What's new

Goota love the christian Right.

ps,
Just a lil, aside here folks.
The Indian LEARNED scalping from the(Drum roll please)..............The White CHRISTIAN Dutch !!

First off, does learning scalping from someone else make it less worse??

Second, who told you that they learned it from Christian Dutch -- the indians???

Ever heard of the Crow Creek Massacre in South Dakota? That happened in the 1300's, well before the Euro's came to town. Do those scalpings not count?

I recognize that scalping had been practiced in europe for quite a long time; but the evidence suggests that scalping had been developed independently in both Europe and the americas.

If anyone made an ignorant statement it's the one you made comparing the Aztec's to the Cree. Couldn't even get within 1,500 miles of Jamestown.

Well why did'nt he just say those ('TRUE BELIEVERS') North of the Rio Grande, East of the Mississippi, South of the Ohio, West of the Hudson. I did'nt realize when he said 'Native Americans' he meant only a confined geographical area such as jamestown. 🙄

Hmmm...."Americans" is one of those dual meaning words for you...depending on your point of view I guess.

So now you're telling me all those dudes outside of football stadiums are indians or colonists?

Hmmm...."Americans" is one of those dual meaning words for you...depending on your point of view I guess.

Nope...no duality here, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is singular to me. If you don't wish to be Legal then pack your bags and depart! B)

btw...how cheap is your lettuce KC? 😉

The fact of the matter, which by the way shows just how lost you really are, but regardless you still confess believing you’re a Christian. FACT--- True religion will not save a single soul but only a personal relationship with the Savior our Lord Jesus the Christ.

So go ahead and throw your stones and look down your nose as you are one of the MANY who are on the path of destruction unless true Christians pray for your eternal soul and even then it’s a gift not everyone receives.
Therefore I will pray for you. There is a flicker of hope that realization will save your soul but you friend Gar is already part and parcel, the devil's own.
And you know this is a FACT . .HOW exactly? You may BELIVE It's a fact, but that doesn't make it a fact. Neither does some words in a book.

Hindu Invocation in the Senate dissrupted

I guess when the christian right say that they want more religion/prayer in public, they really mean they just want their religion/prayer in public, not everyone else. What a bunch of hypocrites. They and their fellow nut jobs are a joke.

Got to love 'That Religion Of Peace'....Muslim's beating Muslim's for making a pilgrimage and worshiping a black stone!

How does what happened in Saudi Arabia have any bearing on a few Americans in the House Gallery heckling an Iman and not a single christian right group advocating fewer restriction on religion (like there are any in the first place) came out to condemn the actions?

Saudi Arabia (our ally) has never been a human rights bastion. But they have oil that we need so we let that slide.

Are you trying to imply that since SA police are beating certain groups of people that it is OK to heckle a religious leader in the House? Would you like me to bring up some christian right nut job killing a doctor who performs abortions? No, I doubt you would because that has nothing to do with the issue at hand either.

Hey pagan, your the one who started the subject of Intolerance and I just decided to point out the height of it!

Lets review.

The original post was regarding 3 or 4 fundamentalists who heckled a Hindu Priest in Congress conducting an invocation. The title of the thread addressed the christian right. No where in the article nor my post was there any comparison to religious tolerance (or the lack there of) out side of this country.

The challenge as it were, was why was there no outrage from the religious leaders of this country that a religious leader was heckled in Congress. Where was your outrage? Where was 700's? It would seem that from your lack of outrage and the lack of outrage from the rest of the various religious communities that the idea of religious freedom and tolerance is merely lip service on only extends as far as their freedoms are concerned.

I understand the fact that you cannot stand Islam and all things not christian. Being in america that is your right, but what goes on in other countries has no bearing on this issue. This issue has too do with the hypocrisy of religion (in this country) in general and the christian right in particular.

By the way, I am agnostic/atheistic (depending on my mood), not pagan.

First off the guy is a Hindu Priest...not an Imam.

Second, the hecklers are right...."No Lord but Jesus Christ!" and "There's only one true God!"

Third,I didn't catch the story.

Where was your outrage?

I had trouble sleeping that night....

It seems that only muslims demand a death wish upon other religions when they perceive their religion has been dissed.Maybe theres something there in that thought.

Im very respectful and tolerate of those religions that reciprocate, and yes I do abhore Islam because it teaches I deserve a death sentence because of my beliefs, you don' like it?????...TFB!

We all know your Christian hating bias, your type is well noted.

BTW...you're not only a pagan, your a heathen as well!

If attaching some label to me makes you happy knock your self out.

What do "Paganism" & "Pagan" mean?

By the third century CE, its meaning evolved to include all non-Christians. Eventually, it became an evil term that implied the possibility of Satan worship. The latter two meanings are still in widespread use today.

There is no generally accepted, single, current definition for the word "Pagan." The word is among the terms that the newsgroup alt.usage.english, calls "skunk words." They have varied meanings to different people. The field of religion is rife with such words. consider: Christian, cult, hell, heaven, occult, Paganism, pluralism, salvation, Witch, Witchcraft, Unitarian Universalist, Voodoo, etc. Each has so many meanings that they often cause misunderstandings wherever they are used. Unfortunately, most people do not know this, and naturally assume that the meaning that they have been taught is universally accepted. A reader must often look at the context in which the word is used in order to guess at the intent of the writer.

We recognize that many Wiccans, Neopagans, and others regularly use the terms "Pagan" and "Paganism" to describe themselves. Everyone should be free to continue whatever definitions that they wish. However, the possibility of major confusion exists -- particularly if one is talking to a general audience. When addressing non-Wiccans or non-Neopagans, it is important that the term:
bullet Be carefully defined in advance, or that
bullet Its meaning is clearly understandable from the text's context.
