That is one thing that has made me very leery of Obama. If he can convince me that he will not try and shove his religious beliefs down my throat like the current bunch of misfits in office, I will consider voting for him. So far, he seems to be the most viable option out there. I liked McCain till he started sucking up to the right wing nut jobs and then that boner of a move in Iraq just sealed his fate with me. I guess the fact that he still supports W also just proves to me that he has at the very least, piss poor judgement skills.

In other threads, 700IAM has already made it clear that predominately black demoninations (and therefore most black people) aren't truly Christian. After all, since they don't share his far right-wing (nut job) political views, they can't really be Christians, can they?

Just becasue someone is on the right does not equate them with being a racist. I have several friends who are coservative. They are very nice people just people. Nothing like the racist thug above.

The conservatives should not support him any more than liberals should be expected to support anyone who is so out of touch on the left side of the spectrum. I do not think Local or Dell have ever reallycome out to defend much that he has posted on this board. The likes of him thankfully are far and few between when you look at the population as a whole.

Well said, Gar. I do not mean to imply that anyone else on this board has shown 700IAM's racist tendencies. Unfortunately, too often, people just let this kind of thing slide, though. Those who have the best chance of making someone like 700IAM realize just how vile these sentiments are are those who share his political point of view - if only because he may actually take their words to heart. If I call him out for what he is, then 700IAM will simply ignore it.

If you are ALWAYS going to bring your faith and the Bible into everything you utter, I am going to call you out on something when you say stupid things in direct conflict with the Bible.

It DOES matter what people think of you. As a self-proclaimed "Christian", you are supposed to be a sanctified steward living among the general populace -- a populace you consider profane. Knowing that you supposedly represent God, Christ, and the gospel before this populace, one would think that you certainly should care what people think of you. One of your greatest concerns should be learning how to counteract the populace's slander against your supposed "Christian" faith by showing the work of God in your life; Rather than to disgrace Him with shameful living. Unfortunately, you have done nothing more than disgrace.

I thought he lost it when he hooked up with Falwell and the other guy (I forgot who it was). Before then it was my understanding that he had credibility because he stood up for what he believed in. I had harsh words for the religious nut jobs (like 700) and then all of a sudden he sucks up to them to get their voting block. People saw through that and he paid dearly. Then he shows up in Iraq saying "hey folks, everything is A-OK". He failed to mention he was in the green zone backed up by Apachies and who knows how many troops and he was wearing body armor.

His future was long gone before he signed on to the immigration fiasco.

As for 700 and Mike Richards. Like the joke about what is the difference between rats and lawyers …. There are some things a rat won’t do …. I am pretty sure even Richards has certain standards and I seriously doubt that 700 even come close.

One thing I would like to bring up regarding the original topic.

I recall some on here saying that when people do bad things in the name of Islam, that the Muslims should speak out against it. And I agree with that sentiment. How ever, should the same not be true of the rest of the religions of the world? Now before you get your panties in a wad, I am not equating a massacre or beheading with the hecklers in the Senate. However, I do not recall any religious leaders speaking out against what was done. That is not to say some did not (I did not see any thing printed). Billy Graham, Roberts, Bush, Obama, Clinton nor anyone else for that matter spoke out against it and to me, that is very telling and quite embarassing.
