HP's 757's have constant MTC issues. Another one this morning in DCA. 7am to PHX has mel can only take 112 pax. 69 pax have to be removed. These AC have MTC all the time and rarely operate on schedule. Where did they come from? I thought US ac 600 ,The Gem of the Eastern Fleet was bad news,but it was nothing compared to these P'sOS. Delay is now up to 2 1/2 hours , but will probably go to 3 plus.

i heard the hp 757 are some of the oldest 757's out there , i mean we're talking these are some of the first produced , or so i heard .

US/East has the the original 757s that EA bought from Boeing.

Now stop complaining. Try to embrace the new order. This isn't your old US Airways. It is gone forever. What a victim you are for saying anything that might put Tempe, the old AWA, or the 757 in a negative light.

Ssshhhhh...just be quiet. "Awe Shucks" Doug has everything in control. How dare you. I mean, you are m amere little guy here. Get over it.

<sarcasm>

Well I worked an east 757 last night. The first one with the winglets and I don't think ANYTHING worked on that damn thing. One of the most horrible I have been on in some time. I sure hope they are going to do MORE than just put the envoy seats in. That baby needs a serious overhaul inside. I know it was going in for maintenance last night after we got off in CLT.

Sssshhhhhhh, Travelpro72....stop complaining. Caring about our ac falling apart is unacceptable and negative in nature...not fitting for the NEW America Worst!!

757 with winglets....Different on outside, same on inside. LCC I forgot. I do slip up every once in a while. Oh yes repeat after me :blink: Things are great, management is doing an incredible job.. :blink: . I have to get back on my bandwagon. :lol: That plane looked like something from a third world country and that is NO BS. It was B-A-D! ! ! !

For years the HP 757's were abused and you can blame William Franke and his executives for it. They were misused on short hauls that added way to many cycles to their airframes by poor scheduling practices that were not in tune with what the aircraft was designed for. Add to that they simply did the minimum maintenance required for the aircraft and they created a huge problem that will always folow these unfortunate misused aircraft.

Some senior HP FA's would bid the plane knowing that many of their trips would be cancelled due to maintenance and that they would be released from trips and still be paid for the trip. It was perfect for them.

Now that's what seniority does for you... stikittodamon-itis.

The HP 757's are from NW.
And the DCA delay/restriction was due to runway length.

Ummm, according to the HP loadmaster, it was a speed brake problem which caused the weight restriction. The HP shift manager didn't want to play "God" and decide which pax to pull (individually), so they decided that only the connecting pax would be pulled along with all of the Non-Revs.

True but due to the short runway and the take off config. out of DCA it was a problem at that particular airport

Point taken: at least it was better to reduce the load as oppossed to cancelling the flight. It would have taken hours for the parts to come from PHX. All connections were rebooked by the HP team at the gate.
