THURSDAY OCTOBER 27
FROM 8 AM TO 5 PM
AT THE TEMPE AMERICAN LEGION
2125 S. INDUSTRIAL PARK AVE.
TEMPE, ARIZONA 85282

Ok, here is your chance to talk to the IAM. Come ready to ask questions that are important to you. Write them down, make a list. If you have a copy of your contract then bring it with you for reference. 🙂

Maybe they can just let their Track record speak for itself....Lost Jobs, Lost benefits, 3 rounds of concessions, over 20 Stations Outsourced, and the list goes on. Maybe they will be upfront with everyone and tell how they even had the"BALLS" to raise dues after all of this damage took place. The IAM is Powerless, plain and simple..

Just watch out for the bait and switch pony show , something you would expect US to try to pull off.
Remenber the iam's " strength and numbers" line they fed F/S and no sooner the iam was elected
the iam separated the mechenics to (district 142) and the F/S (141) and told F/S
Now I seee there moto is you can loose the union his time. If we had that mindset when they were trying to gain our repersation they would never have gotten in.
Yesterday someone asked a few co-workers "Can anyone tell me anything good the iam has done for F/S "
you could here a pin drop.......................

The mechanics were not seperated into DL 142. Everyone was DL 141, in order to stave off an AMFA raid the IAM conducted a vote and the mechanic and related at 141 voted to form their own district in 1999, which was four years after the ramp at US became IAM, which was DL 141M., not DL 142. 141 was still the largest Air Transport DL in the IAM.

When UAL mechanics went AMFA, 141Ms resources could not let it survive, then we were merged into DL 142 last year, as it was the only District with mechanics in it, as 141 was purely Fleet Service and Customer Service.

And if there was ever an IAM represented group on strike at US the other group would honor the picket line, being part of or not part of the same DL does not matter.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Thank you for the claification of "strength in numbers" and do you honestly think that the mechanics would have honered a F/S picket line ? they didnt even like the fact that the cleaners were included with them.
IMO they only used the F/S contract to their advantage less for F/S more for M&R
Now tell everyone one good thing the iam has done for F/S .........

A good union member would honor a picket line, I know I would.

Second what F/S gets from the company has nothing to do with the M&R and visa versa.

And if you cant realize what the union has done for you, go back to 1992 or go ask the non-union folks how they did not have a voice or vote on what happened to them during bankruptcy.

You don't need to got back to the Non Union folks, because the IAM is not the only union out there. Sign a card to have a vote.

Hey Mr. 70 (I have removed one of your digits because you are not very credible any more an it is hard to believe what you say, unfortunitly) 🙂

i cant even imagine that anyone who stays in those outsourced cities would want to vote for the iam after the hell that the union put em thru, not just the company. i know i wouldnt vote for the iam due to the powerless protection they provided us as fleet service and the horrendous dues that we were forced to pay even on the severance checks.

Your eating your own words
I'll ask anyone who views this ..what has the iam done for you as a /

hey gonzo...i'd make a point of getting some IAM contracts set up for your people at this meeting.

IMO A good union would of let the members know in advance that the whole membership was behind their decision , not use it as a wedge.

IMO ist plane to see that F/S got the leftovers from the M&R contract .

I'll ask anyone who views this ..What has the iam done for you as a F/S agent ?

Don't try to kid anyone, there was no voice even with the Union around here. Maybe there was if you were fortunate enough to be in one of the Hubs "Sniffing" behind one of the AGS's, but that was it. I firmly believe that there was little or no difference between having a Union or not during CH-11. The Union was completly Powerless, and the Comapny did whatever they wanted to with the membership. Wages and Benefits were slashed, and many jobs were outsourced all with Union representation in place. The only difference was that some paid dues to lose their pay and/or jobs and some didn't. The end result was the same weather you had a Union or not. By the way, the cuts that we took in Fleet back in 92 were nothing compared to what has taken place over the last 3 years WITH a Union!! Our wages snapped back, and the Stock deal that we got more than paid back the W-2 cuts, at least in my case they did. I know that you are going to toss the PDO issue into the ring, but only getting paid for 1/2 a sick day now is even worse...
