IMPRESSIONS OF INCOMPETENCE

Ya know signal I have read EVERY reply to the posters on here and you can twist the topic however you'd like. As for the f/a's being the singers well listen to this tune. My friend has placed a yellow tag (as shown in the pic) on a few carts only to find the SAME cart with the tag still on it WEEKS later. I have worked E-190 trips that I DEMANDED catering take off a cart since it was warped and all of the drawers were collapsing on each other only to have the same catering truck arrive at my plane after a BOS turn and try to give it back to me. I wrote the cart number down just in case and sure enough. Your basically saying that it's not managements job to have these sort of issues monitored and fixed and that it is the person "using" the equipment that is responsible. Oooookiedokie. 🙄

Yes, yes, the TRUTH gets twisted when it hurts. Your tune is that of violins, so watch as I play the fiddle...Is it maintanence job? They are responsible. Is it the mechanics? Call Doogie(who probably has the old corporate 'open door' policy) and complain because it is his fault. Who Is Doug paying that isn't doing their job?

Name names and show some nuts or cry me a river!!! 😱

Sigh..Son...as you're apparently not far along in life's processes, and/or have experienced very few "bumps" as of yet...I'll offer the following:

1) Outside of immediate family and closest friends: ANYONE is "replaceable"..regardless of any associated degree of narcicissm, or willfull self-delusion. The next day guarantees NO ONE...anything at all.
2) I've seen lifetime friends, from all colorations within the economic spectrum, all the way up into the 7 figure range, placed out of positions in very short order due to consolidations/restructuring/economic downturns/death/etc.
3) A modicum of rational humility always serves one well in life 😉 Such amounts to "having a clue"....just a thought 🙄

1) No kidding! I know this and perhaps the chronic criers should learn it!

2) Your point being? I've learned to know who my friends are. Remember, I don't complain about my job no matter how it sucks!

3) A clue of what? I have a clue that US is ticked off at AWA for buying them out and suddenly running the show.

Perhaps you should spin your diatribe to someone who thinks that they aren't replaceable rather than those who have come to that reality over 20 years ago. Grow up and learn youngun' 🙄

Remember, I don't complain about my job no matter how it sucks!

Small wonder then, that you've such an abundance of overflowing rage against the far healthier individuals that do express their frustrations.

In any case..this place is a mess, and needs some serious work from all concened. The tools must be available to do the job, and flight crews can't "make things work" without the essentials...Period.

I suppose I’m not the first person that thinks the poster known as “signalsâ€￾ is trying to torpedo this thread.

Not to fear, we can start over again while you are enjoying some time in the cornfield.

Gosh N9, I thought your posts were informative and entertaining. I guess when I don't share an opinion it is time to shoot-me-down. So be it. If I broke a rule, then cornfield it is! I am not a wimp and accept my fate as MY responsibility.

Torpedo? I am merely answering, without insulting, the questions and comments to this thread.

Thing is that if I do go in the cornfield it will prove that this is a one sided opinion. Let US whine because the employees are right and the customer is wrong.

Cry me a river and grip reality!

Okay, enough is enough.

This thread is starting to get some notice in the media, but it seems the poster known as “signalsâ€￾ is making a strong effort to deflect from the subject at hand, and get it closed by the Moderators.

I would respectfully ask that the Moderators remove irrelevant posts before this gets out of hand.

Perhaps yourself?

"Name names and show some nuts or cry me a river!!!" ....Interesting.... 😉

Pull-eeze! Please send me my multi-million dollar check then! Me working for US only if it means I replace you!

Hard to believe, but I don't work for the airlines nor do I make near what you claim! By U I mean posters that post figures!!!

Yes, buddy, I belong to a union and sometimes my 'brothers' pass the work onto me so 😛

In any case..this plae is a mess, and needs some serious work.

What F#(K!NG planet are you from? Far healthier individuals that expess their frustrations? What's a plae? These healthier individuals do nothing but whine complain and point fingers. I have rage, huh? For what? I don't fly but have to listen to YOUR freakin' customers. My only rage is that just like in ral life it is convenient to pass the buck.

Having said that it is time for me to get some sleep...

so one more!

Let us pray...

Dear God please help us from an inconvenient truth that isn't about global warming. If they are not for us then crush them, Lord. In our insane name we pray.

Good Night!

Then..it would logically seem to be also in your best interests to see the operation and equipment conditions greatly improved. That's the essential notion of the thread. Employees, especially those that directly interface with the public, would love nothing more than to be proudly offering a superior product to satisfied customers on a daily basis...trust that at least, as it makes their lives much easier, and far more pleasant.

I've noticed that the US employees I come in contact with don't give off the vibe that is given in this forum. They actually seem to be happy and upbeat and give no signs of problems.

If as you say employees would love nothing more than to proudly offer a superior profit, perhaps the ones that don't and are the problem should get their heads out of their you-know-what!

Plae? One might ask what a ral might be, as well?

Back on topic:

When the aircraft interiors begin to resemble 1313 Mockingbird Lane, it is extremely disheartening. Incredibly saddened to see those pictures. It must be extremely tough on the employees to go to work everyday and witness the visual decline of what was once an extremely polished operation with a minor hiccup here and there. Sincerely hope that things improve, and soon.

We've no dispute there..other than perhaps one related to geography = "perhaps the ones that don't and are the problem should get their heads out of their you-know-what! "

I'd offer that those are the higher inhabitants of the Sandcastle, and NOT the front line workers who do want to have a decent working enviornment and happy customers. As long as the employees are willing to complain, and note the failings of what's not provided for them to do their jobs, and are demanding improvements...there's yet hope for this place. If/When that ever stops, without huge changes in the overall conditions from what they are now.....then it'll be finally OVER. For so long as people truly care enough to complain..there's hope.

The majority of the cleaning of US' Fleet is outsourced, so US is paying a Vendor and not following up on the services that they are paying for. Seems like money being thrown into a black hole.

When cleaning was done in-house (only at the mtc stations) after the planes were cleaned on the RON a form was left on the plane for the crew to inspect the plane and fill out, those forms were turned back into management, also the Lead Utility had to inspect every plane before the end of the shift to ensure they were cleaned.

At US every 30 or so days each plane got a heavy duty cleaning it was called an SCO. I dont know if this program has been kept or not since the merger and the elimination of Line Utility.

And items that are deferred and to be fixed later are scheduled by management on the overnight workload, usually the parts are not sent or their is lack of manpower to accomplish non-airworthyness items.

So once again the onus falls back on management, not the individual employee.
