Lots of Questions, Both IBT Reps that are there are Aircraft Mechanics one from United and the other from Continental both had 25 plus years in. They new the industry. You might want to drop by just to listen. They are there again tomorrow from 12-7 at the Hampton Inn. 3418 S. 79th st..
IBT Card Drive not started yet. But I will take some AMFA Cards to get signed.
Were they (IBT) not contacted several years ago and had no interest in an AA card drive? If so, why the sudden interest? Will they be called "scabs and union busters", the Hampton Inn swamped with protesters, and a coffin displayed in the parking lot by TWU zealots? Their absence is nothing less than an endorsement of the IBT's presence. My question is are they here to do a legit card drive or just here to split us up three ways.
It appears the first union to submit cards will be included by name with the TWU on the ballots with sufficient interest validated. The other will have to be a "write in" choice, which could be at a slight disadvantage, and of coarse a "runoff" election of the top two choices will occur if no one receives a majority of the votes cast. I prefer signing only the AMFA authorization card.I am all about democracy, sign the IBT cards, sign the AMFA cards and lets have an election!!!!!
Just sign their cards and thank them for helping, while signing your AMFA cards too.
Just another choice when the election takes place.

Follow the money. Can you say two revenue tickets, hotel, meals, drinks, and a(n)According to my shop steward who called the local for me, the TWU is helping the teamsters card drive through K.C. liason Gordon.
That sounds about par for the twu/ibt "alliance", referred to by our darling twu prognosticator Overspeed.According to my shop steward who called the local for me, the TWU is helping the teamsters card drive through K.C. liason Gordon. The goal is to confuse people to dillute the card drive for AMFA. When I asked him if there will be a meeting with the teamsters at the base here, he said that the local leadership told them to stay away.
I remember reading that somewhere in this forum somewhere. If memory serves me correct, it was posted that he was hidden at TASEL.Who does Gordon Clarke work for?
Is an American employee?
What station is he assigned to?
Who voted him to a union position if he is an officer?
I have many former TWA mechanics on my dock, they informed me "do not trust Gordon Clarke!
Keep your eyes on the prize. This is not about any individual, or single issue.
This about a conversion from Industrial Unionism to Craft Unionism.
The IBT represents 80,000 members in their Airline Division, including but not limited to, Fleet Service, Stock Clerks, Pilots, Flight Attendants, Mechanics, UPS Drivers.....ect. ect. ect.
While I am open to democracy and signing any card the that might provide for an NMB representatioanl election. I would suggest that going from one industrial union to another is not going to change much.
In addition, I doubt that if the IBT were to garner enough cards, that would actually file for an election against their so-called alliance partner the TWU.
Beware, Stay Informed, and Keep your eye on the prize!
I will just keep asking, how does two guys from IBT have the ability to Communicate with every shop and dock on the Tulsa base if not provided that communication identification by someone that has that access i.e. The Alliance Partner....THE TWU?
It's pretty simple Dave. AMFA/AMP is an alternative that most have realized has not delivered on its promises. People like you wave the craft union banner as the panacea to the membership's ills however after destroying the jobs of 23,000 the truth is obvious. It doesn't work.Keep your eyes on the prize. This is not about any individual, or single issue.
