Inflight service announcement

They started charging for sodas hoping other airlines would follow...and they didn't. It has been a 6+ month experiment that has put us at a competitive disadvantage. They really need to reverse this decision. I've also heard they have made a decision on the IFE system for domestic....once again an edge of your seat, wait and see thriller.

you people must be high! You actually think we are going back to offering free beverages onboard?? How about more like a CASHLESS SYSTEM.

Dougie's gonna get all his dollars!!!

You're half right. They will stop charging for sodas, but all other sales will be cashless. I'll betcha this is the announcement. Credit cards for everything...that's it. NO CASH ALLOWED.

How about an "Exit Fee"?

All alcohol and beverages an food for free. In order for the F/A to open the door charge $50 each, cash or credit.

But then the Kettles who used that last nickel from under the sofa cushion to buy that $99 round-trip Internet fare to Orlando wouldn't have the money to get off. They'd be stuck on the plane forever, like "Charlie on the MTA".

Maybe we will provide a FREE HOT meal on any flight longer then 20mins. They feel the FAs dont have enough to do since charging for sodas...Oh wait we no longer have the ovens to cook them so lets try and find the exact oven that belongs on said airplane...
Who needs ovens?

There’s a warehouse in Aliquippa PA full of Aladdin trays.

With our current customer base half the pax will not have credit cards.
Oh come on, Circle K sells pre-paid Visa cards. They can pick one up along with some chewin’ tobacco.

LOL!!! They would make a killing off of a toilet charge because as I remember when drinks were free everybody would take one (or sometimes two or three) then they would all line up to go to the bathroom during the flight! Since we are an a la carte airline, pax can pay to enter the lav and then if they need toilet paper they can pay per sheet. That is only fair since some people may not use toilet paper, some people like to use a lot of toilet paper, and then some only use a little! 😛h34r:

That was Jay Leno's perspective back when we first started charging for drinks. He said we missed the boat. We should pass out all the free beer you can drink and then charge $10 to use the Lav.

Drinks back on the house

You heard it here first: US Airways plans to reverse its decision to charge for soft drinks, water and coffee.

Good to see, finally.

Still, I wonder if this may be part of a larger announcement, whether it be something related to IFE, InFlight wifi trials, etc.

It looks like at the RCA meeting earlier this month, they discussed reevaluating the domestic F experience, including the use of plastic cups and when meals are served. Perhaps some positive changes could be in store for F class.

I wonder? Could it be? Is it possible? Maybe, just maybe? Are the Tempe teenagers finally realizing that policies and marketing decisions that present us as the most customer service UNFRIENDLY airline don't work? Let's hope so, FINALLY.

That may be true about FC. It also needs some major overhaul. But I do know all of the HH specialists are included in the conference call tonight. That leads me to believe we are going cashless for all inflight purchases...this is a good thing too.

But they said have made the aisles less clogged and let flight attendants provide better service.

Huh?? What service??
