What's new

Inflight service announcement

But they said have made the aisles less clogged and let flight attendants provide better service.

Huh?? What service??

While this is nice...I think it's too late...they have already alienated their best customers and even the recent Ma n Pa Kettle from the Burgh going to Orlando for Winter Break...

Reversing the beverage charges won't appease me as I won't be flying US domestically at all.

I'm glad to see the free drinks are back! Now throw in some peanuts too like Delta.

I'm not going to go there...but for the record in that whole other thread that was closed...I never said that I was performing a check ride...seriously...we got teenagers running around in Tempe you'd think they would atleast send seven year olds out doing that and writing up the Crews who give them free Milk because they are so adorable...

Get a life...

you people must be high! You actually think we are going back to offering free beverages onboard?

Uh huh! I didn't believe it at first either but I wrote to ask inflight and they said they are evaluating other options...if the rumor were not true I think they would have told me that it's merely jumpseat gossip. I may be wrong though I'm just trying to read between the lines.

Conference call for inflight on Sunday, public announcement on Monday...
Conference Call for Sunday has been CANCELLED, repeat CANCELLED...    Perhaps change is not in the air. I was dreading the news because generally speaking, all sunday announcements tend to be related to financial crisis (aka bankruptcies). I guess I am somewhat glad they nixed this announcement.

I hope just the call is canceled, not the possible reversal, because I can tell you as a customer that while such a reversal would not bring customers back in droves, it would improve the opinion of US Airways among infrequent customers and those that are still hub captive. This possible reversal has caused quite a stir over at FlyerTalk.

US Airways would be foolish to continue nickeling and diming in this manner.

If this it true...and I'm gonna wait to hear the "announcement" for myself...this will serve as a sort of personal redemption for me. You see, I was called into the my supervisor's office last fall and asked to sign affidavits refuting my statements on USAviation about what a huge mistake competitively it was to charge for complimentary soft drinks, waters and juices!

You know, for all the managment that reads these boards(and I know first-hand you do) instead of being threatened by what your front-line employees say, why don't you consider that many of us know what we are talking about and have been in this industry far longer than most of you! Instead of INTIMIDATING employees who disagree with your ill-conceived ideas, why don't you LISTEN and consider that we may actually know a thing or two about customer service?

I know that's asking alot and it would be a HUGE change from the standard operating procedures of the last 3 years!

Also--my guess is that they will frame their announcement by saying the whole $2 charge for complimentary drinks was just a test--and that THEY (in their infinite wisdom and keen insight) have decided to end the test.

THEY NEVER ADMIT MISTAKES......EVER!

I hope this leads to retraction of other customer unfriendly policies like no IFE, no powerports, excessive baggage fees, etc.......but I doubt it. They are slow learners.....

If the others had followed suit it absolutley would have stayed that is the only reason it is going away.
