ok. i am not one to talk about people but this is getting into serious territory here .

This was sent to me from a friend of mine, so I am forwarding it to you just for you information:

Hi everyone. I just spoke with one of our FAs who very recently had on a flight of his to Anchorage. ..is telling crewmembers that he is employed with Mesa and does check rides on FAs for both Mainline and Express. He has been obtaining pieces of our new uniform (he was wearing the zip up sweater on this particular flight) from FAs that he knows and this, I believe, is a huge security issue. told the crew working the PHX-ANC flight that he was going to stay for nine days in Alaska. In actuality, upon arrival he listed himself for the Las Vegas departure leaving two hours later. Who knows what he told the crew flying that leg!

Two of the crewmembers working the Phoenix-Anchorage flight found his story to be so incredulous and deceptive that they are considering taking action with the Company to investigate.

First of all, does not work in the airline industry. the probability of him working for an airline is extremely remote, if not impossible. He travels extensively (probably flies more than we do as FAs on the job) as someone's registered guest. He also uses (and abuses) guest passes and has friends he knows reroute those passes with bizarre routings.

Second, he is not a check rider as he may try to portray himself if you encounter him on any of your flights.

Third, if he asks for any uniform pieces from you or guest passes, do not oblige as it may cause serious problems for yourself.

If this person is a registered guest they can fly were ever whenever they want. Masquerading as a flight attendant it is close to Halloween

I am pretty certain I know this person. This person is harmless and actually very nice. That being said, this person needs to tone it down...WAY DOWN!

This person needs to stop telling others that they are employed in the airline biz, needs to stop wearing uniform pieces adorned with AFA pins. Lastly, this person needs to stop trash talking the employees and airline that fly this person around on free joy rides all over the country and the world.

That being said, I would gladly take this person on one of my flights....just without the quirky stuff thats making other employees and crew members suspicious. 😛h34r:

Oh really? Considering this person is pretending to be FA, I think it's a valid argument. Didn't some of the hijackers on September 11th pretend to crewmembers. It's a security issue. I wonder what the FBI would have to say about that.

I don't recall anything in the September 11 Commission Report about the hijackers pretending to be crewmembers.

the 9/11 hijackers as I understand had flight training but dont recall them being actual crewmembers as for this dude getting pieces of uniform i wonder how the company will handle that if he gets caught

Personally, I don’t care how nice this wannabe whackjob is. He sounds like those guys that buy used police cars and drive around wearing a security guard uniform looking “officialâ€￾.

In case of an onboard emergency, he’ll be asked for his assistance if the crew believes he’s a FA. Totally unacceptable.

This is very funny since you very frequently discuss people from Tempe by name.

Since this is a sensitive topic and is being referenced to protect the person, I am fully aware that the person was not posing as an US Airways crew member at all although the person did indeed non-rev with an AFA adorned pin and a company sweater which poses the security issue question however we all have to be honest we have seen some Registered Guests/Domestic Partners/Family Members wear some kind of US Polo shirts when nonrevving, does that not also beg the question at all?

If this person is a registered guest they can fly were ever whenever they want. Masquerading as a flight attendant it is close to Halloween

Said person was not masquerading as an US Airways Crew Member, and Registered Guests are allowed to fly whatever they want as long as the employee is being payroll deducted for the inputted income on the flights flown by the Registered Guest (Costly Over Time).

This person from what I know actually was not trash talking the employees at all, it'd be nice if this person was able to get his story straight and I agree this person should have not been wearing a sweater adorned with the AFA pin at all and I think this person definitely non-revs way too much N903AW.

N965VJ, I'd suggest YOU actually get the facts straight before writing someone off as a Whackjob I mean If I heard somewhere else that you were indeed a Whackjob however I would not believe second/third-hand information I'd go directly to the source and see for myself.

"told the crew working the PHX-ANC flight that he was going to stay for nine days in Alaska. In actuality, upon arrival he listed himself for the Las Vegas departure leaving two hours later. Who knows what he told the crew flying that leg!"

If sources at the company are indeed accurate, this person was written up for the Anchorage-Las Vegas flight not the mentioned Phoenix-Anchorage segment, since this was ANC-LAS I don't know where the nine days came up at all, looking at the PNRs in QIK I see that this person came out of Burbank, CA after missing his 2pm connection in PHX to WAS...stayed in PHX for approx. 4-5 hours then caught the flight to Anchorage after trying for the late evening flights to PHL and CLT (Overbooked that night according to the PBTs) so it looks like he flew to ANC from PHX then to LAS with a two hour "connection" built in, I don't see where the nine days comment came up and the person did not say this.

Last time I checked Registered Guests can fly whatever they wanted as long as the inputted income is deducted from the employees payroll, lets not slander this person because they flew too much and in actuality he does not fly more than crew members, that's avaricious.

Second, he is not a check rider as he may try to portray himself if you encounter him on any of your flights.

That is indeed a serious security issue however the person states that they never passed themselves off as an US Airways Crew Member, would the Crew not have the common sense to ask/challenge for an US Badge at all? and I hear the person from other sources that was trash-talking the US Airways employees...I can't even verify/deny that from what I heard but whatever N903AW said must be true.

That's all YV has to say here and that US Corporate Security is one big witch-hunt...I don't know how the heck you all keep amused with this crap on US Aviation seriously...US Airways & America West has been together for three years now you don't think we all could even get along without the writing-up mentality we've seen on these forums?

So, set the record straight. Why was "said person" non revving in a company sweater, saying he was a check rider? Go ahead, give us the facts. I'll reserve judgment until I get the info right from the "source".

OMG this person was wearing a company sweater, AFA pin, and saying he was a check rider? Did this really happen?

I think the fact that this person wants to spend all day non reving for the sake of just taking an airplane ride proves that they are a whack job.
