What's new

Injunction is out

What have you done to make your dissatisfaction known? Are you going to submit a recall petition?

Yes, I have made my dissatisfaction known. No, petitions don't get very far in this union, or haven't you noticed.

And what about a replacement. Are you going to look for someone that wants a Nic compromise and start this whole thing all over again? If that's the case, and from what I see it is, then you'll find the west putting Cleary right back into office.

I want to know how the membership feels at this point in time, not the leadership, or the BPR, or the usual suspects who attend domicile meetings, or the keyboard crowd - but the increasingly silent majority, such as the 60% who did not vote in CLT.

In case it hasn't dawned on you, which I doubt, a USAPA without any leverage or authority does not help east or west. The legal machine will grind on until the courts decide or the money runs out. In the meantime, it is Parker who owns all of us.

Come on PI, surely you can appreciate that any loss for USAPA is a win for the west pilots.

No CG, I can't and of all the westies I would think you would be able to see that it is not. You don't need this, right? You have the law and morality on your side, right? So how is the company being granted a more potent weapon, that could be used on any, of us a good thing?

The rest I pretty much agree with except the company giving in to USAPA. After reading the company's reply to Silver and stating that they would have to amend the TA in order to go along with USAPA, I believe they think they have accept the Nic. And if they think that, they are doing the rest to delay and preserve their cost savings. Look at what the savings on our contract has done for this company. In '08 it might have made the difference in heading back to bankruptcy court. This year, from what Parker said, even the lousy Kirby would have been the difference between profit and loss. The company claims they need an answer because we might strike. BS. They know we couldn't pull off a strike! They haven't been to scared of us so far, have they? I think they enjoyed the delay with Addington and thought "Hmmm, perfect! A delay on ripeness. Let's file our own suit and delay it even more!" I don't know for sure, but my opinion.

A friend had a great analogy. I've probably said it before. He said the westies and the east ALPA loyalist think they are sitting in the front yard watching the house burn down, and after it's done they will rebuild. The problem is that they are not in the front yard, they are on the front porch and the house is going to come down on ALL OF US.

The US stink is upon you. You see yourselves as "west" and "AWA", but the company and the world see us all as US pilots. Let me tell you, no one sees me as Piedmont.

So you just shrug your shoulders and give up? As a west pilot, I am intimately familiar with being discounted by the majority. But you can't just sit there and do nothing (well, you guys can).

How about this. What if 10 guys started recall drives? 20? You think that could start to mobilize your silent majority? One guy starting a recall is a target. 20 is a cause for concern for the incumbents. 50 is a voice for change. That's how you do it K!

And you membership has already spoken! Rule of thumb is that anything higher than a 35% non-participation rate is a bad sign. Apathy can be turned to action.

Find those guys and start individual recall drives. And if you put out the right message (you know what it is) you just might get the west bloc to back your efforts.

No, but singling out one westie while ignoring the same in several easties does say something.

Jim

Oh really!? Sort of like you do all the time? Pot, meet kettle.

I copied it last year and put it in a file on my netbook. I just so happened to find it as the guys year came up. I thought it was funny as not a single thing came true. Simple really. If you are not looking for things.

What? Aren't you the guys that said you would do anything to keep Cleary in office?

I've heard that often bi-polar people don't like to take their medicine...........

There you're wrong. PI (the airline) disappeared pretty peacefully 22 years ago and the industry and everyone in it has long ago moved past that merger (or thinks Piedmont is the name of a US Express carrier). But nearly everyone in the industry knows of the trouble at US since this merger and recognizes that there's still two sets of pilots. Heck, even the FFers on FT talk about east vs west.

I'm sure you are! Of west pilots that is. Can captains over there use the do not fly list, or is that only for F/Os?

Bit too dramatic Pi and overly verbose.

We have nothing to worry about. No one out west got in trouble for the work action and if we continue on our path we'll be fine. We've managed to avoid your stink because we still live in separate houses. We have our own aircraft, our own lines, our own contract, and our separate operation.

You guys have #### on yourselves and burned your own house down and we stand across the street untouched and laughing at you.

There you're wrong.

What is that word you were so fond of? Let me think...........oh yeah! PROOF!

What do you base that on. You recent trips you've flown? Your interaction with other active employees? I think I have a little more than you, and most lump us all in the same group.

But please, go ahead and show your work. You're wrong.

Gee, my DL jumpseater the other day didn't see it that way. I hate to break this to you, but AWA didn't have the most stellar reputation to begin with.

Don't bother Jim. He's washed up. He's become a Claxon. He's just hair Pi now.

You've admitted that I'm right. Have you not said the the DL/NW pilots learned from the mess here? I do believe you have. How can they learn from this merger without recognizing that the two sets of US pilots are fighting an interminable war?

Give it up - you throw out too many conflicting claims that it's impossible for you not to contradict yourself. Then, if it's pointed out you attack, like any playground bully would.

Exactly, the only ones who see a win, are the west scabs, and Jetzz, most likely a scab also.
