What's new

Injunction is out

Gee, my DL jumpseater the other day didn't see it that way. I hate to break this to you, but AWA didn't have the most stellar reputation to begin with.
An east guy telling me about "stellar reputations"!?!? You guys don't even like yourselves and you're taking about our rep. You may be pathetic hair Pi but you are a fine comedian.

So you just shrug your shoulders and give up? As a west pilot, I am intimately familiar with being discounted by the majority. But you can't just sit there and do nothing (well, you guys can).

How about this. What if 10 guys started recall drives? 20? You think that could start to mobilize your silent majority? One guy starting a recall is a target. 20 is a cause for concern for the incumbents. 50 is a voice for change. That's how you do it K!

And you membership has already spoken! Rule of thumb is that anything higher than a 35% non-participation rate is a bad sign. Apathy can be turned to action.

Find those guys and start individual recall drives. And if you put out the right message (you know what it is) you just might get the west bloc to back your efforts.

Only one small problem with your strategy:

"If that's the case, and from what I see it is, then you'll find the west putting Cleary right back into office."

Besides, a recall will take months. In a few months we will be approaching new elections anyway. The next election will be a referendum and, depending on membership sentiment, a recall. My suggestion asks the leadership to act on their own and thereby move the process along faster.

Did you purposefully ignore my last sentence K?

And you just don't get it. The recall isn't the message. It's the act of working toward a recall. You need to show others you want him out and spool up those fence-sitters. If no one speaks up now than you'll have 40% of you guys putting in Cleary on your own.

Put out a recall effort. State that enough is enough and that the Nic is it. You'll get your west vote.

Do nothing and nothing changes.

Don't be a coward and don't be lazy.

The east is too fractured to pull off a recall by itself. The guys that said "we don't need the west" were wrong. I participated in the Crimi recall attempt, and between the apathetic and the hard core DOH guys, not only did it fail, but they reelected him.

The time for change will be next spring during the officer election. My question is how the west will vote and since even CG sees any USAPA loss as a west victory, and your comments, I see SNAFU.

Thanks for the advice. BTW, speaking of cowardice, I didn't catch your real name.

I won't be a coward and I won't be lazy.

I also won't concede the Nic until the majority east concedes the Nic. It's called loyalty and its one of the reasons someone of my seniority chose to stand against the Nic. I'm just trying to figure out a way to know that fact when it happens 🙂

You've admitted that I'm right. Have you not said the the DL/NW pilots learned from the mess here? I do believe you have. How can they learn from this merger without recognizing that the two sets of US pilots are fighting an interminable war?

Give it up - you throw out too many conflicting claims that it's impossible for you not to contradict yourself. Then, if it's pointed out you attack, like any playground bully would.

Jim

If I it was just you and me I would give it up, but it's more to show the lurkers how you are. You are never wrong in your mind. Even though you are no longer here, no longer in the ccokpit and flying trips, YOU know what is happening.

You've been pegged, most see it.

then you've learned nothing after all of this.

Don't worry about my name K. My message is valid.

And your last paragraph shows why you guys aren't going anywhere fast. Are you loyal when the majority jumps off a cliff and you follow? Sounds more like a lemming to me. If your unit was massacring innocents would you participate out of loyalty? Or would you do the right thing?

USAPA is killing you guys and you go along out of loyalty. There is no solution then.

Swan, did you vote for the CLT scab?

Not CLT, and I voted NO on LOA 93. We are rock solid in PHL. This injunction is nothing to worry about at all. I am currently getting all the phone numbers of the C/P 's in PHL. I would encourage all pilots with any operational concerns, maintenance concerns, to actively involve them in your daily decisions, especially the Int'l pilots. I would go so far as to ask them the suggested taxi speeds with varying weather conditions, and if there is turbulence on a route, call and ask them to participate in the new route selection, as to not slow down the operation of the airline. There are a myriad of decisions we can ask them, all for the good operation of the airline. We all want to make sure we abide by the terms of the injunction, and the one way to absolutely comply, is to involve the management pilots in these decisions. I am all for complying with Judge Conrad.

Once again you miss the message. If you start a bunch of recall efforts, and I mean a bunch, you send a message. That fractured group starts coming together because they know others are willing to come out publicly to challenge Cleary.

And you're right, unless that movement is accompanied with a Nic acceptance, it is snafu.

Someone needs to stand up and state that fighting the Nic is a lost cause.

Yes, you are. I've merely stooped to your level of name calling and personal attacks. This is where you've chosen to go in less than a day.

I feel sadness for you. 🙁

I see a distinction between your gross name and mine, but maybe not. Both a little childish.

Don't feel sad for me, things are going great. I have a job. A great wife and kids-my daughter that actually got a job out of college, and the others are doing great in school. I already live in the Piedmont of NC, and am already a captain. Getting ready for a nice cool Saturday and a 6 miler around the lake. And still young enough that I may see something better out of this place.

When you make it to CLT and are my F/O we will have a great time trading snarky barbs and I will buy the beverages of your choice.
