The last flight is Sept 6th I was looking at Quick and they are not selling seats past the 7th I thought that this will happen because the loads are so bad i will miss it the none stop to hnl.

In Todays issue of About US, it said the CLT-HNL flight WILL end on September 8th. Also to Note, that One of the PHX-HNL will also operate with an East Crew and Aircraft due to a lease return.

Ok thanks one more question? will we see a 767 from PHX-HNL?

I just ran an experiment and the results somewhat startled me. Both HA and US fly daily nonstops between HNL and PHX. HA flies a 767 and US flies a 757. In the past I have found HA to be cheaper.

Today I just picked two dates from thin air and found, using Orbitz, that ** UA ** has the cheapest nonstop fare for the two dates (4/27 & 4/30) at $365.00 (including taxes) using US flights 20 and 23 as code share flights. US came in at $420.00 for the same flights and the HA roundtrip came in at $498.00. HA's fare does include Lunch or Dinner, depending on direction and it is not an overnight flight from HNL, as is the US flight.

Frankly I expected HA to be cheaper and it may, or may not, be and I just picked a date when the load factor on HA was higher. I will say that I have flown that HA flight and it was far more comfortable in coach than a 757. However I doubt that US wants to add more capacity to the route and potentially lower yield if those seats can't sell at higher fares.

Interesting FACT....

USAirways Cargo Sells EWR-HNL via PHX..... Any Guess WHO the Freight Connects to in PHX ? And it aint USAirways.........

Undoubtedly HA - a 763 has a lot more cargo capacity than a 752.

That's interesting, as only the few uber-anal flyertalkers and airline forum lurkers would know which flight to book if they are seeking an upgrade and want Envoy seating rather than the 20 year old domestic First class from HP.

Is there any truth to the rumors that an A330 would operate the CLT-HNL route instead? How were the advance bookings for Dec/Jan/Feb travel when people didn't yet know what a horrible on time rating this flight would ultimately have? I wonder if the word of mouth really killed it with travel agents once it became known that this flight could never operate on time.

That is an exceptionally poor characterization of people who purchase a service that you aid in providing. In other words I suggest that you are biting the hand that feeds you.

I have been watching this flight on a regular basis since we took it at the end of January and it's been doing very well as far as on time and arriving early quite often. I'll be sorry to see it go since having to take 3 flights from my home to fly US to HNL is a real pain.

Dont think that is going to Happen..... HOWEVER, Heard a Rumor for a while the US will start PHL-OGG in the Fall.

Doubt this will happen for 3 reasons......

1. leisure market/low yields..fuel prices creeping back up.

2. 767 doesn't have the legs and the 330-200 would never be used on a route like this..

3. The flight would NOT be NONSTOP on the return due to OGG's short 6900 foot runway.

1.) I'll agree to a degree. 🙂
2.) The CLT-HNL flight is just as long. The CLT-GIG flight is actually longer. The 767 most definitely has the legs for it.
3.) The flight most likely would be weight restricted.
