IT WAS INEVITABLE!

Without specifics, the purpose of this post seems to be to stoke the fire, nothing more. If OTOH, safety would be compromised due to overwhelming emotion, then the jumpseat should be rightly denied.

And people wonder why pilots won't get any sympathy from Joe Public on this issue: how about discretion and FAR abuse?

Choices, we all have them. Your f/o could have left for JB, SWA maybe even Fedex but he chose to stay with AAA even when he knew that it was dying.

Dying?

Was it the year 2000, give or take, US made over a $1 billion? and that was eleven years after the pilot was furloughed?

Have the A&W rooties ever made that? in a decade?

Before we start checking each others, um, EEGs, to determine brain activity, perhaps we should agree that both of the carriers are pretty much bottom feeders.

I believe that US was capable of expanding activity over the next ten to fifteen years, mainly due to their international pressence, but, due to Bush's declining dollar, the rooties bread and butter, the American tourista as well as the high cost of jet fuel, was looking at quite a decline over the same time period.

YMMV.

He likely had at least 1700 below him..... ALL of which would be recalled within the not very distant future, giving that gentleman the left seat he has earned after 20 years of service to the airline.
Are the 1700 flying for U or furloughed? So he was at the bottom of the active pilot's list, right?

Are the U pilots actually fighting for a national seniority list?

Maybe we should merge with JetBlue, that way their 6 year pilot could be slotted in right behind AWA's 23 year top guy. The way they explain it, The top of JetBlue's list should join the top our AWA's list. Don't want to lose any relative senoirity here, would we?

Oh, but that's different! 🙄

Can we get back on post?

We were trying to J/S from LAS last week on an earlier flight than we were schduled to DH. first she said we needed 30 minutes. Not true. Then she said we 'needed to be listed'. Not true either. THEN she said "I don't have the time to deal with you". 😱 We all were denied boarding.

SOOO...it wasn't actually a pilot/s from either side doing the denying?! It was an agent?

What a waste of typing! After 2 pages it boils down to what an agent did when someone didn't want to take the SKED D/H! What a hoax. Good way to get the natives all fired up. Lets see what we can post to stir the pot.Things are wired enough already-oh I forgot this is USAviation Forum.

and YES Jerry Glass and Klan will have bested you again because no one will stand up to him! Except of Course Teddy Xidas and she is long gone. Also not a pilot. So go for it! Keep blasting each other and end up screwed and blaming everyone else.

AMEN Piney...Jerry Glass is an expert at union busting!!

On another note, just got back from a trip. Had not one but two east jumpseaters (pilots) on different flights. Both got on, one even got a seat in first, shocked we weren't full. Anyway, there didn't seem to be any tension between either jumpseater and either working flight deck. I do know that one did discuss the seniority decision, but from what I gathered he's close to retirement and pretty senior. Didn't seem really angry, just upset for some of his co-workers.

Those agents in LAS can be really half-arsed about doing things for crewmembers...east or west. We've had them push flights knowing that they were leaving must ride dead headers at the gate. It can be a nightmare there sometimes!

Our Jumpseat Committee reports that no such actions have taken place.

Just another idiot trying to start crap.
