Back on topic.

In the CSA contract the agents have 10 holidays at Double time. The agents have the ability to exchange the extra pay for 2 more weeks of vacation. Do you like that idea?

If that were to come to us, would those vacation days be placed into the mix when we chose our weeks the year before or would those weeks be relegated to left over weeks during the slow season such as Feb or Mar?

Thoughts?
My guess would be the latter, like flex days...

I bought a week once back in DFW and all they had was Feb. I never bought a week again. If I was still only able to get Feb again if we get this deal, I'll trade back one week only and bid my other 4 regular weeks for more preferable months.

I never bought vacation, never saw the rationale when I could cs off the day week I wanted and not have to have it payroll deducted throughout the year.

That year I only had one week because I PV'd the 5 days prior so taking that Feb week was a nightmare. I eventually and finally stopped using the PV's because I was tired of losing a week vacation because of it. When I was able to afford it having gone up the Payscale it was better just to CS off when I wanted and lose the day's pay.

Well both the buy a week and PV's are gone anyway so, so is the enticement to use them as well. But it looks like we might get some of that kind of stuff back again so the enticement begins again I guess.

Weasle used to be a good poster but he answers every post, even when someone isn't talking to him and he has developed a fascination with me. Not sure why. He should reconcile with his Local and learn from the error of his ways and put away his hate for his Local.
Tim keep us informed if you hear of any leaks.

Better get that in writing, brother.

I'm part of a "much larger airline" now too, and our plan costs have only gone up...
Ditto with us too Kev.  Overall, each year medical cost have gone up for the past several years. With Obama care is will continue ti rise every year until folks can no longer afford it, so sad...

my cost as risen last two years I expect that to continue
Yes

weasle, i may never run as a candidate again, but if our 2 headed labor organizations dont deliver then it will be time to consider goin with a non aflcio union and take up the model of our pilots and stews. Dfw prolly likes the idea of independence anyways.
It has been proven time and time again that independence is the way to go.

They laugh at everyone. They just don't listen though and I have been incredibly successful bringing the hammer at them. They will suffer "Great Pain" if they can't close a solid deal. It will be HAMMER TIME once again. We don't need to lose Lav at LAA or Catering at LUS or any other stations that have survived 2 bankruptcies. I will be cleaning my claws on these pricks if they bring some chump TA. TRUST ME!
Pretty sure it will be the end of the TWU and the IAM representing any mechanics at any airline if they do not present to the membership what they have promised to deliver from day one, which is an industry leading contract in "ALL" sections of the contract, not just pay, and steel it back somewhere else in the language and rules. We will see, good luck to you guys.  Look forward to an update after these up coming rounds of nego's. Sad to report we are presently in a 3 month delay for any nego's for our mechanics group, pathetic I tell you, simply pathetic.  I hope you guys get everything back from all the concessions over the years...

Sorry for the intrusion guys.  I got crossed up with the fleet/AMT threads.

Let's see I took UALs  $29.88 x3% and got .89 I added $29.88 +89 = $30.77 added .55 shift differential and got $31.32 minus our current $24.39 =$6.93. I then took $6.93 x40=$277.20per week x52=$14,414 devided by 12 =$1,201.Come on Weez I need to get paid

Good idea I'm sick and tired of subsidizing private jets and such, and I really don't like my money going to a candidate I  can't stand

And we thank you for not reconciling with Klemm. Now if you can stop stirring up 700 and Weez. That's where you lose us at Tim, you always revert to personal childlike attacks instead of sticking to the issues. When you focus on the issues there are none among us that can rival you and your expert opinion.
As far as I know, me and the weassle are friends, although you might not know it by our comments. I actually lmao on some of his post busting me. His post are good.

No problem. But since you dropped in I have to make a comment on your independence time and time again statement.

Until you secure your first agreement ever with the group who now represents you, you have no ability to make that claim. If and or when you secure a deal in the future then the comparisons can and will be made.

Again good luck.

We could easily become friends if you would be truthful more often. Since the possibility does always exist that you could have at least a small influence on our talks and therefore my personal financial security I have to continue to call you out when you make things up or over exaggerate.

Let me know when you want to have an honest and civil debate or conversation about that Pension of yours. I always have questions still about it even if I pretty much have made my position clear.

If you change unions in mid contract does it void the current contract?

WeAAsles, This is not the first agreement, and yes I know what you mean by that statement. It is in fact AMFA's 3rd section 6 nego's.  Although I will admit that the last 2 section 6's were not a full blown open every single article as both sides were comfy with most all the articles as they are. One of the 2 last sec 6's was an opening of all articles but almost all of them were left alone after addressed and discussed.  Thx for the good wishes and as well good luck to you guys.  I will leave you with some kudos, this contract is in fact the longest and hardest fought for contract since I have been here. The company is asking for the world and were not willing to give it to them, they, the company needs to get more reasonable in these record times of profits. With the mediators this has helped in that matter.  Nothing will be decided behind closed doors as they were with the teamsters contract after contract. It will in fact be the members that make any final decision of any changes to the contract, period. If anyone from AMFA would even try to make a deal behind closed doors will be removed so quickly it would make their head spin. Case and point one of our ALR's were removed very quickly for something he did in discussions and emails in private. You see with the independent representation we can do that. Can you guys do that with your current representation? Can US guys do it with their current representation?  I will save you the time, that's what I thought...
