ograc said:As below wing employees we should not take too much comfort in your link. The forecast for the industry is good. That does not necessarily mean the fruits of such a good financial environment will be shared with all. If that were true we would have an agreement by now that makes everything right. You really looking for that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? You may call it gloom and doom. Those who have been through multiple contract negotiations, both in and out of bankruptcy, don't necessarily share your optimism that the company will do what is right by their employees. All about cost, profit and return to shareholders. It's business as usual.
Well let's see. Baring maybe a few items in all the contracts out there that we can compare ourselves to that gave their individual companies a little bit of flexibility, we've seen pretty much dramatic improvements for ramp at Delta, Southwest and United. Our 3 main comparators.
It's not just about me seeing a glass half full rather than empty. It's about looking and seeing the FACTS in the industry. Didn't our CSA also for the most part get dramatic improvements with their contract? One voted in by 72% yes. And the pitfalls that are in that agreement will effect a small minority over the total sum of the membership. Are the CSA more valuable than us? NO.
We've seen improvements for a lot of other groups in our industry as well. Oh and the AFA said that they may get a TA over the weekend at UAL? Those were words out of their Presidents own mouth.
I'm just not a fan of this ideology that for some weird and twisted reason many members think of themselves as second class citizens when it comes to the fact that we just haven't gotten there yet so they can all see how wrong they just are.
I'd like to see a change in this negative Nelly mindset is what I really want. Even more than that soon to be TA.
