As below wing employees we should not take too much comfort in your link. The forecast for the industry is good. That does not necessarily mean the fruits of such a good financial environment will be shared with all. If that were true we would have an agreement by now that makes everything right. You really looking for that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? You may call it gloom and doom. Those who have been through multiple contract negotiations, both in and out of bankruptcy, don't necessarily share your optimism that the company will do what is right by their employees. All about cost, profit and return to shareholders. It's business as usual.

Well let's see. Baring maybe a few items in all the contracts out there that we can compare ourselves to that gave their individual companies a little bit of flexibility, we've seen pretty much dramatic improvements for ramp at Delta, Southwest and United. Our 3 main comparators.

It's not just about me seeing a glass half full rather than empty. It's about looking and seeing the FACTS in the industry. Didn't our CSA also for the most part get dramatic improvements with their contract? One voted in by 72% yes. And the pitfalls that are in that agreement will effect a small minority over the total sum of the membership. Are the CSA more valuable than us? NO.

We've seen improvements for a lot of other groups in our industry as well. Oh and the AFA said that they may get a TA over the weekend at UAL? Those were words out of their Presidents own mouth.

I'm just not a fan of this ideology that for some weird and twisted reason many members think of themselves as second class citizens when it comes to the fact that we just haven't gotten there yet so they can all see how wrong they just are.

I'd like to see a change in this negative Nelly mindset is what I really want. Even more than that soon to be TA.

From another news item about Venezuela.

"American said in the filing that it has moved $2.9 billion of tax allowances - generated from years of losses prior to its 2013 merger with US Airways - to its income statement because it expects to be profitable "on a sustained basis.""

Weaasles even though it's not your style you should(could) be driving around in what Bob drives instead of your "classic" with a hanger holding up the muffler and a pitted streaked windshield  oxidized paint  and blue smoke coming from whats left of the exhaust. You know the negotiators light a match (just not near your car)

the rich continue to get richer while our NC is challenged with protecting existing work from being outsourced. That's the reality of our situation. Everyone has a right to "have a dream". You may dream that we will gain everything back in this one JCBA. Respectfully, I don't share your optimistic opinion or dream. I would love to be proved wrong. We shall see. We will be tasked with fighting for everything when it comes down to the "meat and potatoes" of the agreement. The Articles dealing with Scope, Hourly Wage and medical/dental benefits. Would you have supported the original TA at UA? It passed by a 70% margin. Even in outline stations like mine. Maybe these companies know our members better than we do WeAAsles. It's not going to be given to us just because the company is projected to have a strong financial showing in years to come. Of course; one is free to dream.

Wrong vehicle. That one blew up on me back in 99. Blown head gasket.

When did I EVER say we would get everything back? As far as one of those original TA's after the UAL merger, I wasn't in their shoes to know the story at that moment or have an opinion. But I would have voted a very enthusiastic and emphatic YES on the one that they just got.

I know the AA story from May 1995 on though. Very well actually. A little too well even.

As I sit here W, I will say I am guilty of being with the "Gloom" crowd  because I'm still working under a BK contract and have been since basically 2003. And I also see the company refusing to give us our prefunding match. Let's also not forget there is no end in sight.

As for the Doom. I will stay off that boat for the time being. Will we get our prefunding match...nobody knows. How about the full 14% equity? Again, still up in the air. Doom is possible if we are denied either or both.
Now, we all know AA is still insisting on concessions, and I still hear they insist on taking both Cargo and Catering. Any concession in my opinion to a company making record profits and forecast to do so for the foreseeable future would definitely be considered "Doom" if it were to be brought back by our NC. I think the members would look at the $$$ and vote yes. I don't want to be on the doom team and don't expect to be. DON'T BRING BACK ANYTHING WITH A CONCESSION!

And no I'm not a "restore and more" guy either.

I haven't heard anything more on the Cargo and Catering issue honestly? I don't even think they've gotten to that section of the talks yet.

But as far as I'm concerned on that issue and since we know the company reads these boards. They can STUFF IT on any of us giving up any more work. I want work BACK personally.

Your NC is aware of the CBA in Canada and yes we monitor other contracts as well.

Hey Rez. How you been? Buying tickets tomorrow to see Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman. Guess you haven't had a lot of time for concerts these days though.

Hey WeAAsles,

No concerts lately but the wife wants to see Chicago in July, so maybe then.
