You dont know that, and as long as Tom Regan is there, I doubt that will happen.

In Chapter 11 part one the company wanted us all on the same plan the pilots had and all pay the same, Tom found a better and cheaper plan and convinced the company to go with it, it was a win win for both sides.

Look at how good the PMUS Heath Insurance is, you can thank Tom for that.
Tim is just trying to stir crap, dont believe him.
What does passenger service have? I know LUS managers went to the LAA plan What about the flight attendants? Writing is on the wall. Don't let the obvious get in you way

If our guys can get the company to agree to the UAL deal. IAMPF and 3% match, I'll gladly jump in and help prop the bugger up.

Mostly to help Tim get out the door now. I'm even thinking about a Go Fund me account to accomplish the task earlier? Or to pay for the psychological help he really needs to get.

Sybil.
Tim is a valued piece of the puzzle and we owe a lot of what was negotiated in the past to Tim and keeping the fire on the butt of the iam. That included his effort at United as well which benefitted myself and everyone in our group. He pushes things right to the edge, or maybe a bit over, but with good success. I hope he stays involved.

What do you mean "WE", you can keep your stinking plan, I not paying IAM dues to the tune of 80+ a month to get pennies at the end, furthermore the IAM 401 gives only a 3% match.

NO THANKS!
You tell him Bob , go wire his house that will fix him

Maybe? I think he goes a little too far overboard in some areas though.

The UAL deal gives them around $800.00 per month for 10 years in the plan currently (If it doesn't take another hit of course)

We get 5.5% as a match. We're looking at about a 28% raise coming up. To make up that difference then we subtract 2.5% from the 28% leaving still a 25.5% raise for TOS.

So you self fund the 2.5% loss of a match and you gain another investment for your retirement with inclusion into the IAMPF.

And if you're really smart you structure your retirement to have no need for what comes to you out of that pension if you're so worried about it. (It's not going to hit zero BTW with all the new participants brought in)

aah you're just intimidated, don't worry he said he likes you. I'm learning a lot about the IAMPF from Tim. I wasn't aware of  half  of what he said. Looks like I won't be able to retire until I'm in my 70s I'm also trying to cultivate a taste for cheap cat food

Sorry I was talking about the IAM dues, and I did go to the IAM pension, and stand corrected, the match to you 401K is subject to contractual agreement.

I can probably guarantee almost 100% unless AA feels otherwise that the IAM is not going to let you out of it. So if you're hugely concerned about it I suggest making up for it in other areas. Owning a property outright in NYC is one fantastic investment (IF) you sell it and move to a nice shuffleboard type retirement community in the South.

I happen to know a guy in LGA who could sell his home back there and probably buy 3 condos down here. Rent out 2 of them and pocket near $2000 per month after paying the property taxes and get a homestead exemption on the one he chose to live in and be paying practically squat.

Maybe you know the guy? He's pretty decent but jokes around all the time.
