I don't pay Parker to negotiate for me I pay the union and Parker didn't take 6 months to decide on an association
Another one who has no clue on the negotiation process.

I'll give you a preview... we met with the company and made progress on two articles and will meet again next week. We also scheduled weeks of negotiations for December and January of next year (I thought Tim would like the last part)
I predict it will be a very positive update and include a TA on 'health and safety" [softer toilet tissue in bathrooms]. Look, this thing is already done. They are just stringing us along. The only thing these guys know how to negotiate are concessions. Parker already said he will pay us the best and he also tossed in profit sharing as well, so we know that we aren't negotiating wage or profit sharing. That pretty much wraps everything up other than health care and pension, days off, scope, overtime. So, with the remaining items, here is my guess.
1. The IAMPF will get another couple nickels tossed in it. TWU peeps will be given a one time choice of that or a 401k with an extra % in it. [remember, Parker gave the pilots 16% max]
2. Health care will be a major concession for LUS agents as the IAM fails in the "Best of both" and tosses the LUS members under the bus for the TWU/Parker to agree to the IAMPF choice. LAA may see health care cost go down a bit.
3. Days off mirror with CWA.
4. OT, who knows.
5. Scope, if we go with the "Best of both" like the Association said, this should be an easy one.

So, if these talks drag into October, you know they are really just doing that to put off health care and claim that the enrollment period caused a pause in negotiations and that this "BIG" item will be picked up after ratification. Hell, the company got away with that with the CWA, so who would blame them if they tried it with this Association.

I agree in the end we will be pretty close to CWA (holidays ,O/T, vacation and healthcare) so what is the hold up

Union Update from Negotiations

We presented the following proposals to the company and are awaiting the company response:
1. Including back braces and other lifting enhancements to be included in the free uniform package.
2. Properly installed toilet tissue dispensers with softer tissue, preferably charmin's
3. At least 2 TV remotes in the ready rooms.

Overall we had a great week. Got to drink a lot of beer on Monday and Thursday, and only really met with the company one time on Tuesday, and most of us really were just down the hallway since only 1 or 2 of us really meet with the company. The IAM peeps won the beer chucking contest with the TWU bosses on Thursday. We will have the best of 3 beer chucking contest and the winner gets to decide our pension routes.
And the company agreed to our proposals last week that our union bosses can have positive space for our families, and that we can get free health care.

We also agreed to schedule more weeks for January and February after the holidays.

Again, we appreciate your solidarity as we continue to delay your $925 and other enhancements.

I hope I'm wrong but this thing looks like it's going to unravel. Even if we did get a T/A we will have to wait for the AMTs who have far more complex issues.

I just reviewed casework against the IAM, regarding the Miller federal court case. The IAM argues that the district has the sole and exclusive rights of bargaining. Other court cases and documents from Roach say the same thing. Our bylaws as well say that the District is responsible for Collective bargaining. However, the IAM created the Association and designated all collective bargaining authority to the Association. Thus, the Association doesn't or shouldn't have the authority it says it does when it comes to collective bargaining.

You wanna see a mess? I just filed the DOL today regarding officer elections, and have a case that will 'officially' be initiated against the Association with the DOL regarding its lack of officer elections. And we will figure out the bylaw question in other ways.

I think we might be able to negotiate a wildcard item while we don't have a lead negotiator.

I figure we can get the NFL network or NBA+, and in return give up the free positive space travel for the union persons.

But if that's a bit much to ask for then maybe we concede and ask for the Miller Lite Girls to visit our main breakrooms during the halftime shows of the Sunday/Monday Night Football games. Weasle will vote yes if they are of Russian ethnicity I bet.

They will want to close a base to pay for the "Raises"..... What else is new

They are tightening up headcount in tulsa so if they close the backshops with the 50% outsource rule that is coming....a layoff will happen

So you might make more money but could lose your job

I'm hoping we will be able to play through, and not get held up because they are having troubles.

To be fair, those are all fairly huge issues...
They are but the Association doesn't care about health care issues or retirement provided the IAMPF is a choice. When you consider that the Association said "It will negotiate the best of both" and set the bar that low, these negotiations should be over in about 10 minutes unless Parker wants to give us more.

Good to see you speak for the Association, that your only a member of, and not a representative nor on the NC.

And your track record of being wrong is stellar.

And they are very concerned about healthcare and the pension as there is a lot of older people in the workforce.

They are NOT concerned about health care. My union person already told me he was notified the Association will concede that article. And, of course they are concerned about the pension and making sure there is a choice for TWU peeps to scam them but they aren't really concerned, in the sense, where they will negotiate anything. I've had the IAMPF for 13 years now and it went up a nickel or maybe a dime. And as the company paid in more, my benefits went from $81 down to $50. Look, I know Tommy and he likes using his reagonamics to hose people. He tried to scorch the earth of senior people in 2008 but was removed and booted from negotiations due to him siding with management on the seniority cleansing. No labor guy would sign such a worthless abomination to eliminate 30 years of seniority if a guy was laid off for more than 30 days. The dope also agreed with ready reserve. Good Grief!
