Rumor I hear from many in Tempe is that it will start early July to compete with B6, operated by CRJ-900.

Comair and I believe American Eagle are all ready flying JFK-CLT-JFK and have been.

So are you telling me 700UW that it won't happen? Guess time will tell.

I am not saying that, I am saying there will be three carriers on the route from CLT all ready and I dont think US will fly it.

Hey here's a bright idea.

How about ISP-CLT????

Maybe with a EMB-190????

That could work--no competition on that route, and relief for PHL.

It's such a good idea it will never happen...

Is US Airways now going to feed Int'l airlines at JFK? (Now, would you take a RJ900 to JFK, and have your bags in CLT, because of weight/balance restrictions?)

Or are we just a little worried about JetBlue coming into our money making markets? (BOS-BUF/PIT/JAX etc.)

I think it may be a little pressure on B6 , if they are going to or have started having some "trouble" in their business model, then maybe a little more compettion on their route(s) could accelerate any demise, or as I call it "The Luv Effect"

I believe it is part 2 of the response to B6 - Doug's letter being part 1.

From what I understand, while this service has been rumored since before the merger, it still wasn't even decided upon until late last week. Target date for beginning in first week in July - to "one up" B6, whose service starts 7/12. Look for an announcement shortly.

Yeah! Get a jump on the competition!

Wolf did that when he got wind of Southwest opening Manchester, NH, from Baltimore. USAirways jumped in a month early and just look what a detrimental effect it had on SWA operations in MHT!

NOT!

Wow, could there possibly be a worse plane to throw on a route competing against IFE-equipped EMB-190s than the uncomfortable, cramped and generally crappy CRJ-900?

Air wisconsin's CL-56 is the WORST piece of crap RJ ever. I am very squished at 6'1 205 lbs (no I'm not obese).

I was more comfortable in a United Transtates Saab 340 that had E+ in it than anything less than an E-170 in US's Express fleet. Though the IAD experience left me with a headache (10 flights out of 1 gate in their "new" Express terminal.)

Yes, a CRJ-100/200

You obviously haven't ridden in one of the -900's. The seat cushions are so thin, you can feel the metal frame of the seat.
This is not the case with the 100/200/700. Unless of course, the are Mesa 100/200/700's...which are no longer being flown at US.
