Eastie scum at their finest:
In my opinion, the last six-weeks at USAPA have been a refreshing dose of open communication, progress and long-term vision. This all came about as the result of a couple of elections, in which the Line Pilots decided that new faces and new ideas were needed; they were correct!
Now, we are in the midst of yet another election of significance and I urge the Line Pilots to continue their quest to clean house. Sunshine is a marvelous disinfectant.
It is not the job of the Compass Correction to tell the pilots for whom to vote. When we come into possession of legitimate and verified information that might help one decide how not to vote…that is a different matter.
On Friday, June 01, current Appeal Board member and candidate for re-election, Tracy Parrella, made the mistake of leaving a voicemail message on the personal cell phone of a certain Member of the Board of Pilot Representatives. In that message, Parrella was reaching out to any PHL based pilot who might sign on as the author of a complaint that she, (Parrella) had just written. This Board Member’s name is alphabetically proximate to her intended recipient. This was Parrella’s explanation, when the predicable phone call from our Board member ensued!
The complaint was written to the Appeal Board and was a claim that the Compass Correction had unduly and illegally influenced the PHL Domicile Vice Chairman election, recently won by Jamie Weidner. The intention was to overturn the election results and to get a re-run.
The complaint, to be filed on behalf of Paul Music, was the work of Parrella and she was shopping for an “author”. The reason is obvious; even she was not so arrogant as to write a complaint that would ultimately be ruled upon by the lady, herself! To my knowledge, Paul Music himself, had no complicity in this and probably didn’t know what Parrella was up to.
In that complaint, she was clever enough to implicate her two fellow Appeal Board members in the “illegal” election manipulation, in the hopes, I guess that they would recuse themselves. That would leave the author herself, alone to rule on the legitimacy of a complaint that she had just written.
In case any readers are thinking this is just hearsay; the whole episode was outlined by the Board Member who received the errant call from Parrella. He did so in open session, to the rest of the Board….ask around.
This kind of nonsense has got to be eradicated, as best we can; let’s start with the ongoing Appeal Board election, shall we?
I don’t know Patrick O’Neill, but he has my vote. He is a PHX based guy, with a good reputation. However, in light of the shenanigans of Mr. O’Neill’s opponent….
Ladies and Gentlemen, please finish the job of cleaning house.
Fraternally,
