Does anyone know what happened to the NW gates at LGA in terminal C and was this part of the US/DL deal?
Does anyone know if the MAT has room to add gates? If they can add gates then US won't need Terminal D. I think 10 gates in the MAT would work.

NW has been in the current DL terminal (Terminal D) for many, many years. Prior to that they were handled by Eastern Airlines at the main terminal.

The MAT is not very large to begin with and was expanded when Pan Am started operating the shuttle prior to the shuttle being Delta's. Room for additional gates? Well with a very creative architect it could possibly happen. One side of the concourse faces a roadway to the employee parking lot, so unless they rerouted the roadway, that side is unusable.

If you're looking to have passengers connect to other airlines the MAT is not prime real estate.
