The discussion of management was a good one--let's continue it here and keep it separate from merger talk to the best of our ability. I know it can be related at some levels, but leave the egos of the CEO's as it relates to the deal in the other thread.

Thanks!

This will be a short thread for a change.
Parker stinks.
Tilton stinks.
Can't speak for the rest of the LCC management team, but at UA Brace and a few others also stink.

REPLACE THEM ALL! I vote for Bethune.

Wow! We agree on something!

Until the end of the day let's try to remember that all that has been announced is that they are meeting. It didn't say that they are meeting to continue merger talks. For all we know, this may be a case of one begging the other to reconsider a decision to walk away from the merger.

I would much rather have Tilton as CEO. My sources say that he and UA are not as difficult to negotiate with. He doesn't seem to be so eager to outsource. To Doug Parker I say: Don't go away mad - just go away!

Agreed. But I think this thread is specifically about management and not any merger potential.

Every successful negotiation will have at least one of the parties walking away at least once. That will be the measure of the surviving management group.

Can't speak for the rest of the LCC management team,

Travis Christ - Say bye bye to a bunch of your FF's

Sherry Shambles - HAY GURL! Can you say GHETTO? If she can be pulled away from her horses, I hear she is very nice. 🙄

I hear this tilton guy used to be the head of Texaco…..

It won’t be long now before Americans are ready to riot in the street over the price of oil and the UA board wants to put a former head of teaxco as their main man?

Well at least if we don’t get parker installed and they put MR T we here in the labor world will have no problem rallying public support as we connect tiltion with the oil problems everyday Americans are having ,and If you think the public won’t be looking for scapegoats think again …..(on the other hand he may not be a scapegoat , he may have actually failed our nation )

So tell me , what’s worse , having a few DUI or affecting the lives of every single man woman and child in this country negatively ?

ok..... i am slightly agreeing with some of the things you post but this one. no way. dui's can kill people. the rise of fuel while very bad really hasn't been associatied to any deaths that i know about. you gotta really watch how you word things on these boards .
dammit . i promised myself i would not mention the damn dui thing.

I will second your motion for Bethune. Being a former PI person, I know what he was capable of before the US folks in CCY sent him packing back in 89. I for one hope that this UA/US merger does happen, and I would love to see Gordo at the helm for a while to get it all put together and running right. I know that he is up there in years, but perhaps he would be up to the challenge for a few bucks.....

I look at things in totality ….. On average the fuel costs that we’re paying today are hurting our way of life…

People die from DUI’s every year and will continue to do so until drinking is illegal or it’s illegal to drive …

My fellow Americans are SUFFERING from the high costs of fuel , the poor are more poor than ever and those who had managed to climb out from the bottom rung of the lader are being dragged back ..

These oil executives have lined their pockets and emptied ours , their greed and complicity with the Saudi princes is a disgrace and betrayal of our country .

Freedom, based on some of your posts, I know that you are a fan of Parkers. I must admit that I too thought that he had the right stuff to run this Airline at first, but not anymore. I do agree that he can work magic when it comes to getting financial backing, and putting deals togehter. But as far as having a direction for the Airline and it's day-to-day operations, Forget it. Letting the labor issues drag on as long as they have was a huge mistake on his part. I have listened to a few of his "Town Hall" meetinngs, and I'm not impressed with the way he carries himself, or the way he dances around giving a direct answer to questions that are asked of him. I actually had to stop viewing the last one because I couldn't take it anymore....Sad, but true....

call it Parker's public personal problem: the PPPP.

Honestly, it has GOT to be relevant to the discussions of who will be the CEO. Wouldn't the UAUA Board need some info on the status of the PPPP?
